Drinkwater

Cost cheslea £35m and a player we sent on loan is in the England squad ahead of him,

I said it at the beginning of the season RLC, chalobah and Tammy would all be in the England side by the end of the year and its happened

there is something fundamentally wrong with that, and a total mismanagement, we continue these boom bust cycles in the name of a profit with these players, lose good managers and as fans argue amnogst ourselves.

with the conveyor belt of talent that we have come through we have an opportunity to build for a golden age, to lead the way in youth development
and bulid a phenominal future.

it must change for the good of our club

the thing is i dont think the club has any idea at all about how to manage this and we keep hiring bosses who have no interest in developing these players, with a board with half an eye on profit margins and another on sustained success, and this disconnect will keep happening year after year, manager after manager.

Yes I know that but I said that as a joke.

I found it funny that Southgate said he’d only pick players playing regularly and then goes and calls up Lingard who has started just a single game in each of the PL and CL.

Can't agree more, the amount of quality players that have left Chelsea in the last three seasons is incredible, why aren't they given a chance?

Or does the club think if they produce them and sell them for £8-£10mill it's a constant line of profit for the business?

Only a handful of clubs in the Premier League bring youth talent through and put trust in them

who is quality that has left?

KDB is all I can think of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lukaku, Bertrand, Chalobah, Ake, Traore

Also the point on RLC being fastracked to quick - I agree, but I also think the same on Ampadu. Think there are more talented 17/18 year olds in the academy, though I can see the attraction with Ampadu's experience with Wales and Exeter. Sterling for me is the one who would benefit more from playing sporadic minutes than playing Ampadu out of position.

No I don't think every youngster coming through is world class but I do believe there's a culture around the club from fans to board that has started reaching youngsters that we inconceivably cannot take a chance on a youngster unless they against the odds prove themselves at the highest level, we ourselves can't assimilate players into our squad. The likes of KDB, he's become a superstar, fair enough. But also the Chalobah, Ake, like Bertrand, exactly the type players who would/could supplement the squad. It makes more sense in this inflated market to use these players, to avoid spending £35m on likes of Drinkwater and potentially sell them on themselves for big fees later on. But supporters have it in their head they're 'not Chelsea level' and not worthy of even being a squad player. + and others might not agree but why people don't want to see academy products like Chalobah in our first team who have been with the club since a kid is beyond me. No shame in admitting I'm jealous of other clubs seeing academy products grow and develop within their team - bare in mind this happens at Barce, Madrid, Bayern, so not just limited to sides not at the top.
