Article in todays Daily Mirror (other papers as well) says that Moyes wants rid of Arnautovic in January (NO WE SHOULDN'T BUY HIM)
He was bought for £25M and is quoted to be on £100k per week (probably a 4 year contract, worth £20M over 4 years - total outlay over 4 years £45M, who in 4 years time will be 32 and very little resale value).
Only Lloris & Kane are on over £100K per week.
Others close would be Sissoko, Dembele, Verthogen, Alli.
Surely, if guys like Arnautovic are commanding £100K per week, none of our first team should be on less - especially Toby.
I know we have a new stadium to pay for, but surely tying our star players down to long term, paid their value contracts is what we need going forward.
CURRENT WAGES

I have no doubt our players will have new contracts soon but we have a lot of players that can command much more than what we can afford to pay them.
So if its money they after we simply cannot compete.

It isn't the same thing. You don't get X because someone, somewhere in a completely different circumstance and stage in their life gets Y.

Just because cowboy outfits like the Scammers risk a financial catastrophe by paying ordinary players ridiculous wages, does not mean Spurs must join them. Likewise because Abramovich and Mansour finance the wage bills at £ity and Ch£lsea.
Spurs operate within their means and our players are paid more than a fortune as it is. I'm sure some of them will get improved contracts to reflect their improvement along the way.

Spurs underpay when comparing with the market value. You're always going to have examples like Arnautovic who earn above their pay grade in any walk of life, but you can't use one player as a benchmark.
Generally speaking, most of your players could earn more at another club, which is the long and short of it all.

Correct. Spurs players should be getting £X because they can easily go and get £X at another club.

West Ham are idiots.
Wonder how much Hernandez and Hart are on as well?

Wages relate to turnover. a healthy position is deemed to be 50-55% of turnover on wages.
In Spurs last figures this is more or less where we were at.
But since then we have had a UCL campaign, and now another one, plus £45m extra in TV money & new sponsorship.
I would not be surprised to see our revenues be more like £300m compared to the £210m last reported, in which case wages should follow suit. 55% would be wages of £165m compared to current levels of about £120m.
Danger is that UCL money is not guaranteed so this should be reflected in bonuses.
We reportedly gained £45m from UCL last season so if £20m of that goes in to the wages pot then thats fair. Recent report however stated that we have a £7m bonuses pot for our progress in the UCL.
