I believe it is downright ridiculous that steps haven't been taken to rid us of international friendlies. They should make a league or something.

Nice idea. I'd do something similar for clubs.

The sole purpose of watching any internationals?
Great skills, teamwork?
The result of top class coaching?
Full houses to watch your national (or any national) team play? (Not at Wembley, no matter how often the press claim it was sold out).
No, one reason, and one reason only:
To hope and pray that none of your club players get injured in the process. Again.
PS I thought the England team did well last night. Great to see Joe get his first full cap at senior level.

First time in a long time that I've watched England, and actually found a little bit of enjoyment and not changed over by half time. No ego and no expectation.

international friendlies should be used exactly as Southgate is using them. Blood new players and give them a chance.

Yeah but it isn't strictly an international friendly weekend is it!
It's the play offs for the World Cup, often if England are playing friendly matches it is because somewhere else in the world we have copa del America but then again if you would be happy for Liverpool to play without your South American contingent then yeah boo to friendly matches

Another yer da article inanely complaining about international friendlies, half of your club's players have some sort of international qualifier and there's the Nations League literally starting next year
