To get rid of the boredom of the International break, I took to researching my family tree, I had contact from a relative to say we had a famous footballing ancestor. I put the name Billy Minter into Google to see if there was any interesting info on Billy, not knowing at this point who he played for. I longed that he played for my beloved Chelsea........Feck he's a spurs player.
I carried on maybe he had a transfer? No Spurs through and through? Feck! Well I had a read of the newspaper archives, to see what he was like as a player. Oh here's one 30th April 1910, Billy Minter helps relegate Chelsea. F.M.L! This is the reason I hate international breaks as you find out stuff like this in the boredom.
Anyways, has anyone ever found out they had a famous sporting relative?

My grandad played for Wolves, Burnley and Bournemouth back in the '30's and some great uncle or something apparently played cricket for Lancashire.
Not blood related, but my cousin married Pete Rodrigues who captained Southampton when they won the FA Cup in '76.

World Cup 62 England keeper Ron Springett used to be our decorator.
Can remember when he brought round some of his England caps to show me and I had no idea what they were so half distracted I said just put them over there and I'll check them out later Ron. He wasn't too happy with thatGood guy though

My late Nans brother is Sam Magri,s Grandad so I’m assuming that his a cousin or something.
Seemed strange asthe last time I spoke to him was at my Nans funeral and wished em a the best for the new season he was at QPR, the next time I saw was watching him on TV vs England.
