ok people saying piterson is not in the team, what difference would he have made? Check his record in the past 2years? And for your kind information kp has been dropped.... Naseer hussain even mentioned that in the first game, that in england resting is the same as being dropped.... And can someone tell me when was the last time tremlett played odis? The only players that are out for england is morgan and broad.....

I have nt come across any English fan who thinks their side is no 1 in Odi cricket apart from Micheal Vaughan who writes gibberish anyways.

Are England the best ODI team in the world? No. Not by a long shot.

However I agree that we have the potential to fight for that number one spot in a couple of years. With our management structure and excellent coaches in place, as well as top class facilities and a very competitive national one day and t20 competition I feel that we can evolve into a better ODI team. I also feel we should look towards the ODI's as we are technically already the best in the world for the 20/20 and test format.

Many scoffed at our aspiration to be no.1 in the world for the test format...it would be foolish on this evidence to scoff again.

I think India will edge a closely fought ODI series due to home conditions and maybe a risky and young team being sent out by England. I would love to see players such as Hales, Taylor, and Butler going out there to a place that adores cricketers and really giving it a good go, plus it would rest key players who will travel to the UAE in the winter to protect our ranking against a burgeoning Pakistan side.

As to the best ODI team in the world right now? I believe it is South Africa as they pack some punch. India are not far behind and before this summer I would have said it was between those two but I have been somewhat disillusioned as an Englishman watching this India team .

1 month left.... lets leave the gibberish of who is the best between india and england..... By one month india would have a fit playing 11 with the exception of khan, and england will have their kp back if he is really rested. Lets debate that then...... and this time no excuses....

Lets INDEED do that Viru - and THIS time in India if India LOSE i presume you may actually credit England with something, instead of spouting rubbish all the time??!!
