Fat Managers

I dont know why it is but in most cases i just have less respect for managers if they are fat.

These are professionals at the top of their game, working in a sporting environment. There isnt any requirement for them to be slim or fit necessarily, more often than not they are on the side lines barking instructions. But I just feel that as a person involved in football, on the training pitch every day, with elite athletes, with the very best facilities at your disposal, you shouldnt be a barrel of lard !

They are not representing themselves or their club in the best light. Does it indicate a lack of personal discipline? Is this a good thing when you are expecting your staff/players to be disciplined?

Getting old, a bit of middle-age spread is understandable. But some are just plain old fat. I am not going to name names, but you might like to.........

I played a round of golf behind Razor a few years back.

Feckme he hit it hard but sprayed it everywhere. Everytime he sat back in his buggy the thing looked ready to fall over. 5 hours of my life spent watching Razor looking for his ball on every hole.

I met him once at an amateur boxing night, he was a really nice bloke in fairness.

I remember one story about McAteer where he'd locked himself out of his car. Someone passing by told him he could unlock it by unbending a coathanger and sticking it between the door and window.

So McAteer went into his house to get a coathanger....and came out with a wooden one.

You don't need to be any particular height, weight or size to command your players' respect. They'll just use it if you don't know how to command their respect.

Conversely, if you don't have a fackin' clue and act like a cant, they won't respect even if you're built like a demigod.
