With the amount of (worthwhile) sport that the BBC have licence to diminishing by the day, do you think it would be worth them bidding to show the IRB nations cup?
Some of the teams that have come to the world cup from that competition have been a joy to watch. I would watch it.

Without doubt - with Digital Channels they have the platform to show it - and Im sure it would have more interest than some of the BBC 3/4 programmes - the various unions would be grateful for the cash injection - sponsorship would follow and there could only be positives

Agree. I cant argue with BBC Wales showing pretty much every Welsh regional game they can, but spending more on sport, and a fairly(!) popular one like rugby seems like money better spent (especially considering it's public money) than on expensive new dramas and whatnot that think they should demand wages and expenses akin to the private big boy channels who use advertising and not public money...
Did that turn into a bit of a rant?
