For our faint title hopes (and they are faint) Anything less and you'd imagine we'd be going into the Derby at least 10 pts behind them as they have two nice home games this week. For me that would be too much, even if we manage to beat them.
I thought they'd win it from the off but I did think we'd push them closer than it appears we might. To be fair we did come 6th last year so it was always a hell of an ask given how much City improved too.
I don't think we can afford any dropped pts in our next 3 games if we are serious about the title and you could easily make a case for us not winning any of them. Watford away is not a good fixture given their form and Arsenal away is never easy either.
I suppose in two weeks time we will know for certain if we are in the race for first or just top 4.
Do we need 6 pts this week realistically?

We need 6 points to be in a good position in the rat race for top 4.

We've earned a considerable amount more tha. You from on the pitch for five years though. We're following exactly how you did it, with the only difference being it's one persons money rather than a lot of shareholders money.
On the OP, if you take us out of the equation, then your points tally is very good so far. It is still entirely possible for you (or Chelsea) to go on a run that we just did, and it's equally possible for us to go on a run that gets less points than you have so far. All it takes is for one of the top three to drop out of Europe and another to get a few injuries and the picture can change dramatically.
It's still November, I think people should still take it week by week at this stage rather than worry about something still six months in the future.

Less so for a title challenge, which looks out of the question, but if we can get 6 points this week Top 4 would seem settled unless we have some major feck ups.

At least 4 pts required from your next 2 games and i think that's what you will get, probably not the way many would think though, draw at Watford and a win at Arsenal.
Two defeats is also a possibility which could see you in 5th position by Sunday evening.
I would expect us to win both our home games this week which would put a huge must must win in the derby for United.

We need refs to cheat Man City out of a few points

Also finishing 6th last year means very little as we were unlucky in around 8 draws we should easily have won by 4 or more. Our stats in around 8 of those draws were significantly better than in the games we scored 4 this season.
