Shakey going to Everton?

Sky reporting that Shakey will be big Sam's number 2 at Everton.

Firstly, well done Shakey, Everton are gaining an excellent coach and stand in Manager if needed.

But what does this mean for Leicester as Everton will have two old Stalwarts popular with our players, will we see renewed speculation about which players will follow.

Not that I think Everton are an exiting thought to leave Leicester for but you never know who's head will be turned..

Big Sam !. Thats a somewhat underwhelming appointment for Everton. But good luck Shakey, glad you are back in football.

Cant see anybody we dont want to go , will jump ship for a relegation fight at Everton. Pretty sure our players will want to stay and be part of Claudes evolution.

UTF got to be happy when you beat Spurs

I wouldn’t dismiss Everton so lightly. They are a much more established club than us, bigger stadium, bigger support and have really significant financial backing. There is an opening at the moment for somebody to really establish themselves as the club most likely to finish seventh. You’d probably have thought that Everton might be good bets before this season started.

If Everton and us are both in the Premier League next season then I can imagine us going after the same players in the close season. When we’ve done that of late we’ve come off second best.

I’m not intending on bigging Everton up. They are struggling at the moment and have had delusions on mixing it with the big boys for years. They are, however, seriously ambitious and are probably still a bigger draw than us. For us to compete we’d need to change perceptions and match their ambition as I think we are another one of those clubs who is looking to be the best club outside the top six - or at least that’s what I hope.

Rather ironic and a sign of their recruitment issues for the Managers position that big Sam initially turned them down as Everton only wanted him for this season to save them, now they're desperate and have come back to him with a longer term contract offer.

Doesn't bode well for the working relationship.

Surely there will need to be some evidence that Everton's fortunes have turned before any City players' heads will be?

It means, with great sadness, that we may well struggle to hold on to Andy King in January.
