Without the Three Amigos

Just of reflective type of post, to consider if we are in better midfield shape without Hughes,Ince or Bryson .

It looks like Hughes is beginning to feature at Watford under Silva's pupilege.

Bryson appears to be part of the Neil 'Phantom Of the Opera' Warnock's plans.

Ince, albeit part of Mini Me Klopps plans, would appear not to be able to direct a meaningful blow with a banjo on a cows rump.

Whilst our current style is not as pretty as past teams, it seems we are more effective.

I'm not sure we are actually missing the old guard...

I'd take Bryson back in January's window if we can.....we miss his mobility and for him to stay at Cardiff is giving one of our promotion rivals an advantage.

Hughes is head and shoulders above all those mentioned but some Derby fans never recognised it. We were well and truly mugged by Watford.

Bryson has had his best days but could still do a job. I watched the highlights of last seasons Barnsley game last night, it reminded me of how awful Bryson could be at times but Hughes or anybody else wasn't much better that day.

Saw Ince on MOTD last week, still making the wrong decisions.

Yes we are missing someone in central midfield so we are not so reliant on quick breaks down the flanks and we can control the game.

When Bryson was good, he was very, very good. When he was poor, he was poor.

When Hughes was good, he was unplayable but if he was below par, then he was ineffectual.

I suppose it depends on how many average games you would be expected to accept against one subliminal game.

Bryson, yes, I would have him back, was all too often having too many average games.

Hughes I would have back, but you build the team around HIM.

Having circumcised our central MF I don’t think Hughes or Bryson would feature. Bryson needs 2x players who can keep their position behind him n GR seems to lean towards a number 10 ahead of the circumcised MF.

Ince I’d have liked to see in this team just to compare, think he might have enjoyed himself. Personally I’d like to see us switch between tika taka:

.........Deadly.......GT/Huddz........
.....................Hughes..................
...Ince............Martin.........Russell

and our current reactive regime.

If I could have any of them back though it’d probably be De Bruyne.

Don’t see that at all 2W. Hughes doesn’t score enough to replace Vydra and he is a good enough defender to replace Thorne Huddz or Ledley.
Rowett clearly knew that Hughes wouldn’t be a good fit for his team.
I’m happy with losing the three of them. I can’t see any of them getting a start as things are.

I’m not too bothered about Hughes and Bryson not being at Derby but I’d have Ince over Lawerance.

Ince is the only one I definitely wouldn't want back. He scored some goals but I always felt his overall contribution wasn't a positive one. I think without him in the team we would have scored just as many goals, just from other sources.

Hughes had got too comfortable at Derby, too complacent, his career was going nowhere. I'm not surprised it's taken him this long to get into the Watford team because while he was here it seemed like he no longer felt he had to improve his game despite putting in mostly under-par performances. The manager they've got there might have done him some good, a bit of a reality check.

Bryson I might actually have back, although I think too many years here of achieving very little had killed his passion for the game and he wasn't performing at all. The change of scenery seems to have given him a second wind but that might not remain the case if he was to return so while he is one I'd like to see back that too might not be a great idea.

As for the replacements

Lawrence is average, as I said at the time he looked good in a bad team the previous season, but in reality he isn't that great, has the same problem as Camera in that there's little end product, although he is less of a liability.

Ledley is proving to be an important player. I don't think he's a good player but the way he plays his role relieves pressure on others and I'm not surprised Keogh is having by far his best spell at Derby with Ledley in the team, he leads on the pitch by giving players around him confidence even without doing a great deal and is performing the role I expected Hudds to perform while Hudds instead has been disappointing, almost immature in his play.

Rameses I was just trying to put the best of the old and the best of the new into the remix.

I'm not sure we have to be an either or team, with our big squad currently I think we could play the industrial and/or the metaphysical game depending on opposition.

Wow, a metaphysical team.....Busie old foole.......
