Happy Boxing Day.....
.....and many questions remain unanswered. Did Backo get his Christmas dinners? Did Vidal's butler turn up to serve? Did Ang over cook the turkey? Did 2W get his quorn based feast? Are there any breadsticks left in the Berkshire area?
So, it's over, back to the mundane nature of the Championship. Every game now screams "is this the one?" The one that we lose and the doom mongers regroup, rationalise and say "that's it"
Look, let's ride this, enjoy it and wait for Wolves to implode. After all we did......
Derby have a full squad available.
Andre Wisdom, Johnny Russell, Chris Martin, Sam Winnall and Tom Lawrence are all pushing to start, having been substitutes for the 3-0 home victory over Millwall.
Happy Boxing Day!!!
Things to discuss:-
# What to eat Christmas Day evening?
# Call the Midwife or Coronation Street or Doctor Who?
# Cheese and biscuits with port or brandy?
# Should we have a match on Christmas Day like the old days?

What a long way to go for a 0-0. Interesting nonetheless. Rowett’s plan was to keep the shape and try to nick it. With a bit more quality in promising positions late on it might have worked but that would have flattered us. We have talked of the age of the team and it showed a bit today. Ledley was, for the first time, a yard off the pace and that made a big difference. They largely controlled the midfield as a result. Vydra was not lively either and didn’t look to get on the ball and run at their defence as he has done so effectively recently.
Lawrence looked a threat when he came on. Martin getting no minutes for the second successive game makes you wonder even more about his future. Nugent ran himself literally to a standstill but played the entire game. It’s good to keep faith with a winning team but the consequence seemed to be that they played within themselves to conserve energy.
All the defenders played well again which meant Carson had barely a save to make. So a below-par performance still ended up in a solid enough point. I was satisfied enough with that and overall I expect Rowett will be too.

Excellent analysis and much as I saw it. Heard the Rowett interview on Radio nan Gaidheal, Basically, said that if Vidal was satisfied, he was too

It was bloody chilly too, forgot to mention. I was sitting right in front of the legend that is Mick Derby. Youngest refused my suggestion of asking him for an autograph. The Scott Carson chant is a good ‘un (“Get him on the plane, next to Harry Kane&rdquo.

The original version was better though, more inclusive I thought........

It seems to me that Rowatt's way of dealing with a player who is soon to leave is to simply ignore him for a few games - maybe to show the fans how little he will be missed. He did that with Hughes in the handful of games before he went. I fully expect Chris Martin to be on his way. If so good luck to him. He has been great player for Derby and was great signing by Nigel.

You are most likely right Ramdini.
