Do you think Luiz is going to leave in January? He must be desperate to play first team football with the World Cup approaching, but doesn't look like that will happen at Chelsea now. It occurred to me that what may make sense is a loan move to Crystal Palace - they are in desperate need of a centre back with all their injuries, and it would allow him to stay in London. Perhaps that would allow us first option on Zaha!

He also said that the club decides who we buy and sell
Which was telling to me

True. But Costa was allowed to leave after he had a bust-up with Conte, so although the ultimate decision lies with the board, I'm sure Conte must have a big influence (even though he is clearly frustrated that it's not bigger). There's no point having an unhappy player at the club - even though on his day Luiz can be an excellent player. Admittedly, there may not be an opportunity to replace him with a great player in January - so perhaps this is something for the Summer.

If Conte knows he's gonna leave his post in the summer Id really hope he wouldn't sell Luiz over a personal issue with him as our new manager could do with a player/leader like Luiz in the dressing room, Luiz is a quality player lets not forget.
I can see Batshuayi leaving tho month, tho.

That would be great - I hope he does get back into contention again. That would be the best option for Chelsea.

What’s the story with Luiz?
Seemed last year like he’d matured into a very good centre back and a good performer - right? It seems from the outside that he’s fallen from grace massively and I don’t really understand why.

I'm a very big fan of David Luiz and not only because of his ability but also because of the vitally important motivational factor that he brings to the dressing room and team in general.
Losing David a second time would be a serious error. So as far as understanding what and why? Thats what JA site is for to nourish the drama speculation and offer fantasy opportunities for budding conspiracy theorists who are themselves fed by the media.
It could be that David was simply injured and did not have any personal communication of any note with his boss in the last month.

I seriously doubt that Luiz will leave, especially if Conte is going back to Italy this summer. Think Luiz would fancy his chances under whichever manager we bring in next.
Personally I'd play Luiz in CM ahead of Bakayoko if he's not getting into the side in defence.
