Wenger being overruled?

OK, maybe take it with a pinch of salt, but it was music to my ears to read on the BBC reports of Sven Mislintat currently being the driving force behind moves for Aubameyang and Malcom. Hardly a suprise with his links to Dortmund, however the twist being reported is that the moves are being done above Wengers head, against his doubts over a move for Auba especially.

At this point in time it could just be paper talk, but for years now we have questioned Wengers intent in the market. Some of us have pointed the blame at Kroenke, saying the board won't provide the funds required, whereas others have held firm against Arsene and his stubborness to align with modern times.

The club have consistently told us that we have money to spend, and IMO it is Wenger who has seemingly held back on big names or spending the extra penny to secure talent over our rivals. The boards downfall has been allowing this to go on for so long, naively overlooking the improvement of our rivals.

I dont believe Wenger wants Aubameyang, so if we do get him then to me its the clearest sign that the board are now starting to turn on Wenger and look towards his successor. Regardless of your thoughts on Auba, he is lightyears ahead of Iwobi, Welbeck and Walcott. We need a marquee signing to prove we can still attract big names, so I'm hoping it happens. Finally some bright news (potentially) for Arsenal fans.

One step at a time, if true it's hopefully a sign that we're planning for life after Wenger. Surely even the idiots on the board can see things aren't right.

Exactly! Its a step in the right direction and evidence that Wenger isn't quite as untouchable as he once was.

And surely team coaches can see that we can't defend?

Wenger is still in charge of all on pitch and training matters. Bould is clearly overruled imo.

so this is the narrative that has been set on ja606. Any postivie things that happen from now on are against Wengers wishes whilst any negative is all is fault. Bunch of children

If we make these top class signings then goes to the board and Wenger who have rightly faced heavy criticism in recent weeks. Be man enough to admit dont just make an excuse of some new man talking over and over ruling Wenger, its pathetic

Suprise, suprise the narrative from you is to just suck Wenger off regardless.

You obviously haven't watched many Arsenal games.

And what positive things?

1. We are selling our best player to another team in the same league. Can't even call them rivals anymore.

2. We are an absolute embarrassment when it comes to defending.

3. The press are speculating that we might sign somebody. As usual there is nothing solid.

4. We are a bunch of also rans.

5. Don't even compete in the CL.

6. Wenger is still there with his extremely stale tactics who does nothing to improve defence.

7. It goes on.

no its not. The narrative is to give credit for positive and criticize for negative.

Its pathetic and spineless to not even have the balls to give credit where its due because you want to keep up some childish pretence that all Arsenal's ills are down to one man and anything positive is irrespective of him.

1. This is a disgrace and angers me. Especially as i dont see united as being ahead of us and we have history with rvp and will no doubt be mocked. the way the club has handled sanchez is an embarassment and it makes the every day fan want to scrap the board and manager and start again with some pride. HOWEVER although its been handled badly, Aubameyang Malcom and perhaps Miki would go a long way to make up for the shambles and prove we are still a big draw who world class players want to play for. Aubameyang would be better than sanchez was this season (gave away so many goals this season to our opposition

2.We have fallen apart in recent weeks in defence. We massviely missed Monreal and Kos. Chambers and Holding are getting exposed. Xhaka is no help to the defence too. With Ramsey Monreal and Kos back we will be a lot better. Need to ship out Chambers and replace with top quality in summer though

3. There is no chance we sell theo and sanchez and dont replace. Wenger was highly critical of the players against bournmouth. We are 100% buying there is no doubt on here

4. what?

5. So what, what do you miss about it? It caused us so many problems

6. Wengers tactics still work well majority of time as long as the quality of players is there. Personel is our main issue at the moment with too much faith in dross like Welbeck, theo etc

Was told this 3 days ago and took it with a pinch of salt. Wenger has nothing to do with the Auba transfer should it go through
