He was not making the immediate impact José wanted. Bought him in Jan '14. By the end of May' 14, just 5 months after we bought him, José said he wants Salah to come back to pre season ready to be a footballer. By January '15, he'd decided to send Salah out on loan. No patience at all.

He's like that sometimes with players who cross him. Most of the time he makes the right call, but he does drop some clangers.

Incidentally, I wonder what it was with Mata that he didn't want him at Chelsea, but has held onto him at United.

By far the best buy this season.

He has to be on real madrids radar at this stage. I can see them making a move in the summer if his form continues to the end of the season
