On Saturday January 20th Wolves host Nottingham forest at Molineux, a welcome return to league action after the distraction of the FA cup.
Forest are likely to be without striker Daryl Murphy through injury and will also be without Jason Cummings as he has been loaned out to Glasgow Rangers for the remainder of the season.
However, new boss, Aitor Karanka, for his second game in charge, has the option of highly-regarded teenage striker Ben Brereton whose performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup was seriously impressive. Karanka also has other forward options with Tyler Walker, Jamie Ward, Zach Clough and Apostolos Vellios.
Despite their stunning performance to knock the holders, Arsenal out of the FA cup, Forest haven’t scored in their last 4 league games and have only 2 points to show from their last 5 games. As a result, they are in 15th place in the league, 11 points away from the play off places.
Wolves, on the other hand, have recorded 3 wins and 2 draws from their last 5 league games
and although opposition teams are making it increasingly hard for them, they maintain an average of 2.3 points per game.
On Wednesday evening a much changed Wolves side were knocked out of the FA cup by Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. As a result of that poor defensive perforance, Nuno is certain to return to his first choice back 3 of Coady, Boly and Bennett. Bonatini is also expected to return to the starting line up along with Jota and Cavaleiro. Neves and Saiss are a shoo in for the midfield.
Wolves have only lost one home game this season and having the best home record in the league, the Molineux crowd will be expecting nothing less than 3 points. The game will give Wolves a chance to record their first ‘double’ of the season.
Gem’s prediction: 3-1

You guys happy with Karanka Will?
Personally think he will do a good job with you and that you will push for a play off at least next season.

Wolves welcome Nottingham Forest to Molineux tomorrow looking to consolidate their 10-point lead at the top of the Championship.
They will be watched by another sell-out home crowd against Nottingham Forest tomorrow with the final tickets having been snapped up earlier this week. It’s set to be Molineux’s fourth full house of the campaign after games against Middlesbrough, Villa and Ipswich.

Depends on whether he only came to Forest as Stoke didn’t go for him or whether he really “believes in the project”. To be honest, so punch drunk from so many managers over recent years it is ridiculous.

Sold out again! We need a bigger ground, where's Steve Morgan when you need him.
Means there will be no parking anywhere near the ground after 1pm so another jolly on the train I guess.
