History rocks – if you’ll pardon the Fred Flintstone pun.

On the surface it’s about what’s gone before.

But it also tells us about ourselves and those around us today.

As well as this I think it also speaks about the future.

The 2nd Iraq War the French government consulted their top historians.

They said that this would be an unjust war and France stayed out of it.

The UK government only asked top lawyers and we went in.

And as they say the rest is History.

Whenever a head-case takes over a country first task is to burn or

change the historical record.

They should of left Saddam and Gorgeous George to it, Can of worms springs to mind.

As I repeated ad nauseam in my old teaching days.

The main lesson we learn from History is this.

Leaders don't tend to learn from History.

Most are doomed to repeat the errors.

When ALEX SCOTT took his first corner kick for Everton at the Gladwys Street end,he completely missed the ball and kiCked the corner flag into the crowd. for the life of me i cannot remember whwther it was retaken as there was no contact with the ball atall......Hilarious, even to us Evertonians.
