So away from the BS and star rating debate – Silva the manager guy, there were a few on here putting him forward after Shakey – did we dodge a bullet – did Rudkin know – what you think??

I fear he's fallen into the Ronald Koeman trap of over ambition and is now soiled goods. He handled the Everton rumours badly, unlike Dyche who handled them very well.
He has, or had, some potential but I wouldn't want him.

There was the odd one who wanted us to have Clement as well, not sure anyone can really question our owners decisions.

I wouldn't want him either - but what is going on at Watford, offered 10m compo for him turned it down then sacked him anyway costing perhaps another 5m - come on, then we think Rudkin is bad!!

Watford are performing worse this season than the previous 2 PL seasons at the same stage. Mazzari had 4 points more, Flores 8 points more.

But he got Hull relegated after good start and lost Watford also after good start??

You may have to confirm this but I believe he took ahold of the reins at Hull who were rooted to the bottom of the League and had performing poorly under Mike Phelan. It was a lost cause by then. He injected a lot of enthusiasm into the side, results improved, but Hull couldn’t avoid the drop.

Watford just act the way owners of Italian clubs do. It's not done them a great deal of harm over recent years to be fair - they've been solid mid table with no relegation scrap throughout. Yes, it could be said they were wrong, arrogant, belligerent over Everton's approach given their recent actions, but on the other hand I prefer having owners who are ambitious and won't be messed with rather than ones who have all the core strength and gumption of Winnie the Pooh.
I'm not saying they're perfect of course, but I don't think they can be labelled as failures.

Keeping Hull up would have been a miracle. They were garbage and didn’t belong in the PL. To take things to the penultimate day of the season was an incredible job, most thought they would come close to beating Derby’s worst points total at the start of the season.
Obvious what happened with Watford, they were flying then he threw his toys out when he didn’t get the Everton move. Doesn’t reflect well on his character but as a manager he is still class. Still think he would have to prove himself at a club like Everton, Leicester or West Ham before really getting a move to a top top club

i think Silva being a good manager or not is still to be decided, just glad its not being decided here.
Watford on the other seem to get through managers like they are going out of fashion and seem to me to be a club wobbling on the sand foundations.

As has been said by others, Hull were relegated before he got there and he did an incredible job nearly saving them. He didn't do himself any favours in reference to Everton and that's where his stock falls down.
He was doing brilliantly with Watford before he screwed it all up after Everton unsettled him and that's why other clubs will be wary of him, although I don't think his ability is in question, just his character
