I come in peace.
I believe that Arsenal’s squad is really average if you break it down.
They need a world class GK to replace Cech who has sharply declined over the past 18-24 months.
They need 2 new world class centre backs to replace Koscielny and Mertersacker who are getting old/retiring while Mustafi is good but also error prone.
They need a competent back up for Bellerin, maybe this can come from their academy, I do not know.
They need two world class centre midfielders in my opinion. Xhaka is not good enough, Ramsey doesn’t like to track back and is very poor positionally and Whilshere is quality but injury prone and could be leaving.
With Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang coming in, joining Lacazette, there is potential in attacking areas. This also hinges on the contract situation involving Ozil, who is world class. They have Iwobi as back up, and I would be looking to sign one more wide attacker to replace Walcott.
It’s a huge next few years for Arsenal Football Club. Lots of changes are coming and the way the club navigates this period will be vital.

Every single player is an international. Whilst there is an argument for strengthening, there is a counter argument which suggests that defensive training is poor. Indeed it is well known that Wenger thinks attack is the best form of defence. So maybe we just need a new Manager!

Can honestly say it is the worst Arsenal team in my lifetime. Which is why it's so dissapointing for me that we've drawn against them twice this year

A immensely intelligent comment was made a few weeks ago on this very topic. I know, because I was the one who made it. The truth of the matter is that merely having a bunch on international players on the field does not necessarily mean you have a good team!

It's much the same team. And if 2-1 is a thumping to you then shows how far you have fallen.

what is important is that top players are leaving a club that once attracted the best of the best.
========
Arsenal never attracted the best of the best. Whether you are referring to the surplus to requirements Ozil and Alexis, the under-performing Bergkamp, the injury destroyed Overmars, the flops Vieira and Henry or the unproven Anelka or Fabregas - none of these were the best of the best when we signed them.
Players have always left this club - Overmars, Petit and Anelka, on to Vieira, Henry, RvP... Even Liam Brady jumped ship to Juventus.

I would say that Arsenal are only a couple of signings away from having a fantastic squad, assuming the story about PEA being a done deal is true.
The signing of Mikhi should see Iwobi drop down the order to the bench where he belongs, so we only need a real DM to replace Xhaka and experienced cover at CB.

The squad would be much better with a new manager. Get a strong midfielder to go with jack, a new keeper and CB and we will be fine.
Incase nobody has noticed our defending is shambolic and I blame management not the players. We also have the ongoing problem of a lack of leadership on the pitch.

It's a real shame how bad the squad has got, realistically we're a GK, CB, DM and two wingers short of a competitvie first 11. That's not accounting for the losses of Ozil and Wilshere next summer.
In the past we've only been one or two glaring weaknesses away so to need 5 (+) players is hopeless.
Our huge cash reserves which should have been invested previously are now worth a fraction of what they were in player terms (although that's no excuse for our lack of spending).
Maybe a new manager can sort this out but I highly doubt it, the rot goes right through the whole organisation.

To be fair the way the game went if Arsenal had one 3-0 you wouldnt have had anything to complain about. 2-1 was very kind to Chelsea.

we should have been 3 or 4 up at HT in that game tbh, we did batter chelsea.
