So it seems Inter have made a loan bid for Sturridge:

Question is, are we that bothered or have we accepted that the Sturridge of old is gone, never to be seen again? Or perhaps that it doesn’t really matter what he can do if Klopp doesn’t trust him?
Personally I’ve always had faith in Sturridge’s ability but he just can’t be relied upon. The pre-season game (forget the opposition) was the perfect summary of Sturridge; went clear and chipped the keeper with a sublime finish. And pulled a muscle doing it.
I’d wish him well but think the time is right for him to move on, be it loan or permanent.
Sturridge to Inter?

What if we did get top 4, would you look very foolish indeed?

What I don't understand is no one has batted and eye lid about Sturridge not being played despite being fit, they sat he doesn't fit the system and then worry about him leaving.
I mean I get the point, kind of, about numbers but it seems a bit paradoxical to me.
Personally I'd rather Sturridge got minutes but that looks unlikely.

Not like Sturridge has actually been any good this season when he has played.

No more than yourself, with your recent Coutinho won't be sold diatribe.

It's been what 3/4 years now since he was on it
He's not got the athleticism or pace now that JK wants so what is the point in paying him a fortune to be a squad player. Other can fill that role for us

Eh?
I think you have me confused flower.
I was telling TOOR a month ago that he was a bit naive thinking Coutinho wouldn’t be sold.

Apparently he may well be in the squad for Saturday unless he agrees to go to Inter.
At the moment he doesn’t fancy Inter and is holding out for Sevilla coming in for him.

I do think that Firmino is overused at CF and rarely offers anything in games where teams play deep.
Sturridge offers something different in those games... A bit of stubbornness from Klopp me thinks about systems etc, but I’m some games you need a striker who is just there to score goals and Klopp disagrees.
Ok if he wants to get rid, then that’s his progative but especially now with coutinho gone, then one or both need replacing

Without wanting to criticise the manager, I do wonder about this, and have wondered if we should play more conventional strikers in the ‘park-the-bus’ games.
We’re not going to find any space in behind from the usual interplay that Firmino gets involved with, because the park-the-bus teams squeeze it out of existence, but it’s likely that we’ll get plenty of ball in the box. From there, we maybe need a bit of clinical finishing.
Ings looked quite sharp when he came on against Swansea, and Sturridge is very good at working tight spaces, and at getting shots away from un-promising situations.
