The only bizzare bit is the suggestion that we put in slightly less interceptions because we aren’t as fussed about getting the ball as opposed to the obvious conclusion that we have more of the ball so are going to be putting in fractionally less tackles. Other than that, some interesting stats
Decent read

Good balanced article and reflects what a lot of us have been saying about Puel’s success in evolving our team.
It’s a very good start indeed and credit to him for that.
Interesting to see Southampton’s demise also. Our owners may have done very well in replacing managers when they have, but their current plight just shows the risk that too much change can bring.
Still the greatest time ever to have been a Leicester fan with the great escape, title, Champions League journey, and still mixing it with the big boys. Let’s not forget that!

I didn't realise we were so down on tackles and interceptions either. I'm sure possession is part of it, but we haven't been pressing so much either. That said, given the sheer amount of (usually successful) challenges Ndidi gets through, it makes you wonder what everyone else is doing.
As for the reduction in goals and chances conceded, that's been quite a recent thing and it's hard to work out what's behind it. Is it the team getting more coordinated with Puel's tactics? A more solid and confident central midfield? Dragovic proving a more favourable partner for Maguire than Morgan? Cutting out mistakes in our own half? All of the above? or just temporary good form on the defence's behalf? I suppose stats can only tell you so much in that regard, particularly with the small samples that football so often provides.

I think the stats are telling - it’s unlikely to be temporary good form when you keep 5 clean sheets on the bounce. Anyone who has studied Puels previous managerial exploits will know that as a former defensive mid he places a lot of emphasis on good organisation and defensive work
What he inherited with Leicester was a defensive shambles and that doesn’t get sorted overnight. I think Dragovic has made a difference - I have felt that Morgan has been struggling for some time. He’s tough in the tackling but not positionally aware on set pieces
The midfield is functioning more as a defensive unit and falling back to protect the defence far better than under Shakey. Time will tell tho

I doubt it somehow, but you can dream I suppose!
Dunge - I can tell you what one R. Mahrez was doing, putting in a 'tackle' which probably got missed off the stats it was so ineffectual. He got in a perfect position to challenge for the ball and the Watford player (who it was escapes me but it was on their left wing so possibly Richarlison) went almost magically through him as if he were some sort of ephemeral spirit with no substance.
So that may not have troubled the statisticians, but what it did achieve for Riyad was a dose of the verbals from N'didi who was clearly appalled by the atrocious effort, or lack thereof!
