Think there's always been palpable discord between the Chelsea board and the incumbent manager over player acquisitions.

In Conte's own words:

Conte should get the sack for his signings alone this season. Woeful.

The guy was a great CM but for some reason he's bought.

Bakayoko

None of which are anywhere above bog standard and it's cost the best part of 80m. Sackable offence in my book.

Yes, I’m sure he wasn’t referring to the fact that Barkley hasn’t played a game in absolutely ages and so is nowhere near ready to come in to such a big game, it must have been a dig....
