Surely, surely, surely we will play 4-4-2 on Sunday?
Even if van der Vaart is back we will not go back to playing 4-4-1-1 to accomodate Rafa.
Harry needs to find a way of fitting van der Vaart into a four four two as the display against Wolves (as well as the entire 4th place season) we played 4-4-2 a lot of it with this team
------------------------------------------Gomes---------------------------
Charlie-----------------King--------------------Dawson--------BAE
Bentley/Lennon---------Huddlestone--Palacios---Bale/Modric
---------------------------------Crouch-------------Defoe-----------------
So surely when we can add Friedel, Walker, Sandro, Parker, VDV and Adebayor into that we should be a real threat.
SAY NO TO 4-4-1-1 HARRY!
FOUR-FOUR-TWO

Evening guys
I was at Wolves last Saturday and I would say that for the first 20 minutes or so, it was definitely a 4-4-1-1. But after that, I saw it as a 4-4-2. To be honest, I was a bit surprise to hear that Bond had said what he said.
I had a decent seat in the ground and there is no way imo, were we playing 4-4-1-1 for the last two thirds of the game, and I don't expect us to on Sunday either.

Evening mate, so you think he'll start Defoe even if VDV is fit or do you think he'll start VDV out right? Either way we look stronger as a 4-4-2
I just wonder what 4-4-1-1 will be like now we've got a forward who can hold up play.

So we did start with a 4-4-1-1 then Spurcat? I was shocked to hear that interview too after hearing everyone on here it was 4-4-2 it was confusing.
It does make me think though that they'll just slot VDV back in behind Adebayor when hes fully fit. Or do you reckon they've seen enough to stick with 2 up top now?

I just re-read the article see what I miss read now
I'm haven't been a fan of 4-4-1-1 but we haven't had that lone striker so i'll hold judgement if VDV and Adebayor can get a run of games together then decide.
But playing 4-4-1-1 cost us a top 4 place last season imo because we didn't have the striker required.
VDV was a bad signing without the top class lone striker.

Benny and messiah -
I think Defoe will start on Sunday. I say that with no real certainty, but that's my feeling. I don't trust Defoe, but he and Ade did look reasonable enough last week, and both scored, so I think he'll go with them.
If VDV really is fit enough, I suspect he'll play him at RM. I am not keen on him playing there, but Bale there last week didn't work and Niko's reluctance to track back will always go against him.

Defoe looks hungrier this season. maybe its due to the Euros coming around.
I would play him and bad ade up top on sunday.
i dont think defoe is the best striker in the world, but there is no doubt that he is perfectly capable of banging in 15-20 goals a season.

Ah, a man after my own heart. Many a Spurs player over the years has shown a remarkable upsurge in form when either a major international tournament is not far off, or more frequently, their contract is up for negotiation.
Messrs Darren Anderton and Ian Walker are classic examples.

I'm all for trying VDV on the Right and believe it could work. Aslong as Redknapp tells him to not drift to much and get balls whipped it from that Area i believe this gives us a completely different set up and could work a treat for the likes of Adebayor and Defoe getting on the end of his delivery.

Can't we play 4-4-2 with VDV as a striker?
