Yes, we're pash. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it.

That doesn't mean there isn't news.

Well...ok, maybe it's more rumour than news. And that rumour is that in the last 48 hours, Stephen Thompson has turned down two bids for the club.

The bids have apparently come in from local wealthy person Gillian Bayford. Locals may recognise Gillian as the person that bought a few of the Oor Wullie's during the recent fundraiser for the Archie Foundation, which of course was only a drop in the ocean for someone who won £148m in the Euromillions.

She also recently bought a boozer in Monifieth.

Her bid is apparently supported by another local wealthy person who actually has some business acumen.

Two bids were allegedly made. The first was for £1 with Bayford clearing the debts, and the second was for £500k with the millionaire again clearing the debt.

Clearing the debt is of course important to the Thompson family given that mum Cath owns quite a lot of it. Thompson allegedly wants £2m for the club too which doesn't help.

In related news, it was confirmed that Mike Martin bought Justine Mitchells shares, which means that he and Thompson own 85% of the club.

Now, IF the bid is true (big IF), then Bayford should go public and galvanise the United support to help force Thompson out. I would imagine any public declaration of interest would lead to demos to get Thompson away. I would support this as, unlike the demo last season, it actually has a plan behind it.
