Summer transfers

Last nights performance got me thinking ahead to the summer transfer window and who stays and goes from the current squad. My list would be

Courtois - stays (provided his attitude is right, been flirting with Real Madrid for a couple of seasons)

Caballero - stays - ok back up

Eduardo - third choice keeper so no problems either way

Moses - stays but as a back up. Most frustrating wing back to watch, always cuts inside, and very little end product

Zappacosta - stays/loan - dependant on moses but another back up in the squad, not good enough to start

Cahill - goes - he tries, but not good enough anymore.

Christensen - stays - brilliant season for him. We look like a different team with him at the back.

Luiz - stays - versatile player, is another midfielder for the squad

Azpilicueta - stays - our best defender

Rudiger - stays - think he has done well apart from the Roma game and will only get better

Alonso - stays - as a first choice left back - aside from the free kicks, adds balance to the team

Palmieri - no opinion yet, never really seen him play in Italy

Bakayoko - Stays (even after last night) - there has to be a player in there somewhere, but if he doesn’t improve next season needs to be sold. Too expensive to go out on loan

Kante - stays - second best player in the team. Does the job of two midfielders

Fabregas - leaves - offers nothing anymore, not suited to the pace of the premier league.

Drinkwater - leaves - harsh but don’t see him starting games for us or challenging the squad so does nothing that a returning loftus cheek wouldn’t do.

Barkley - stays - too early to say

Pedro - leaves - good player but time to move on to freshen up the attack. (Thanks for the Everton goal

Willian - stays - still offers the squad depth and can push for a starting place

Hazard - stays - best player we have. Different team without him. If he wants to leave we should not stand in his way (you either want to be at Chelsea or you don’t), but we should do everything to keep him.

Morata - stays - think he has done alright this season, although lost a bit of confidence. Think we need another centre forward to push for a starting place

Giroud - too early to say. May end up being third choice if we sign another centre forward/ batshuayi tears it up in the budesliga.

What do you all think?

Courtois said his heart is in Madrid so don't think he'll be staying

There is no need to sell Pedro and Drinkwater should leave but we should persevere with Morata as I like him. Also,Musonda and Ruben Loftus Cheek should be tried properly as first team players but I want Fabregas to stay but Willian to leave.Cahill should still stay but as backup player.

I agree with Fabregas leaving, I don't know what he offers anymore. He's so slow and would probably in the domestic cups.

Willian is a good squad player, I'd keep him. Need to promote the youth instead of loaning 35 of them

Cahill is definitely finished and surely best to get rid of Luiz whilst he is worth something?

Out of last nights starting 11 you could argue that it's only Courtois, Azpilicueta, Kante and Hazard who are of the required calibre and 2 of those would jump if Madrid came in.

I agree, would also add Christensen to that list and we also have zouma to come back so there is plenty of cover there which would allow Cahill to leave.

I think luiz is a good player, and adds that extra midfielder if we need it so would keep him, but it is dependent on how much we have to sell in order to buy.

Bakayoko should stay, stay off the fakin pitch

Punt Bakayoko now before teams see him playing anymore football and you can't pay them to take him.

Roman does not have the money to spend+he has a new stadium to build. that means you keep what you have at best+a few mediocre unwanted additions (eg Girod), dependent on Champions league qualifications.

but will be surprised if Tibo and Hazard are not at real Madrid next season.
