Phillips is a player that seems to be going backwards in his development. If he wasn't a Leeds academy product fans would be wanting him out along with O'kane
Apart from his early season form and goals he scored, he has done nothing since, apart from pick up 10 yellow cards. Today when they scored their first goal, Lassoga was the only Leeds player further up the pitch than him, ffs he is a defensive mid field player.
Also, his all round play at the moment is very poor, he doesn't seem to get forward when we are pressing, nor does he make himself available enough when we are coming out of defense. When he does either of these things which are few and far between, he gives the ball away or commits silly fouls in dangerous areas around our box. or gives the ball away too easily in attacking areas. And for most of today's game he just seemed to wander around the pitch looking clueless.
Also having two DMF's in him and O'kane we are always going to have problems in central midfield. I would rather us play Forshaw on his own in that position and then have four across the field in front of him. Hopefully when Saiz is back we can have him and Pablo dictating the play down the middle with Dallas, Alioski/Roofe out wide, and with these three, we have players who can both track back to help out with defending and push forward when we are attacking.
Whatever happens from now until the end of the season, I think PH is going to have to try and find a better solution to our midfield woes, and maybe a more attack minded approach from midfield may be the way forward

Kalvin Phillips is a young lad that all manana/coaches pick!..
Why?...maybe because they see a bit more in him than some that always drag him down do!..
Sorry, I heard the game yesterday and I've been out on the shlash ever since then, but he does take to much stick!..
Time a bit of support was given to players that it just could be affecting the way they play with people always slagging them down!..
karneval time here so bier goes in one hole and out the ear!.
A new trainer so just maybe after a game or three players might adopt his way off playing!..

He's 22 Germany, so hardly a kid in today's footballing world.
Look at some other players who are younger than him. Sessengnon at Fulham is 17, Ruben Neves at Wolves is 20, Dele Ali 20, Gabriel Jesus 20, and of course Lewis Cook 20. Plus there are dozens more playing at the highest level around Europe's top leagues.
By now in his career, If he can't pass to a team mate, or tackle without fouling he will struggle to improve his overall game. At best he will be an average Championship player.
And as for the Manacoches who stuck by him, McDermot, Hockaday, Milanic, Rosler, Evans, Monk and Christianssen. Where are they now.

quite simply he is not good enough and we will never be a good side pushing for promotion with him in midfield. end of 😂😂😂

Followed by...
he doesn't seem to get forward when we are pressing
So he is a defensive midfielder who doesn’t get forward enough but was our second most forward player...
Okay then...

He's just not a good footballer. Never looks to get on the ball, his position just seems to be to try and make tackles in their half and be a goal threat by getting in the box. Problem is he hasn't scored since September and he just ends up fouling all over the pitch.

Think the point may have been that Phillips ought to have had his defensive hat on at that moment...
Everything about his game seems poor at present. His movement, touch, positional awareness are bad, plus he is a free-kick and card liability in dangerous places.
Sadly I think he's going downhill with us. He might be one of those who flourishes at another club if he were to leave.

Said it all season. Looks a player on his day, but far too inconsistent at this level. Games just pass him by, he may as well come and stand with us for all the impact he makes.

He had a shocker yesterday. Totally annonymous for most of the game. Sadly it’s happening with alarming frequency this season. Should not be first choice in DM position. Should be Forshaw / Vieira as the two DMs. Phillips and O’Kane should be benched as relief DMs for now.

Since coming into the team how many coaches has Philips had?..
And they've all played him!..
Maybe the new bod'll see things the way people here do and drop him, but, if he doesn't than it must mean something!..
All I see is a kid taking it for a team that everybody says ain't to good, so, team ain't to good is more than one player, the team get it right maybe he will!..
Was he not in the team that was winning at the start of the season?....I think he was!..
