Out for 6 weeks after having 'minor knee surgery'
Just as we need him most.
Danny Welbeck and Eddie Nketiah our striking options for the Europa League last 32 and quarters.
Hopefully he can get his head together during his lay off and come back stronger.
Alexandre Lacazette....

Noises coming from the club lately is that Wenger will be "asked" to leave if we fail to qualify for the CL next season. Whether it is through the PL or the EL.
I guess Laca injury will have Wenger all stressed out and maybe he'll start to play players in their right position.
One can only hope ....

A motivated Welbeck fighting for his World Cup place, with all his faults wider, can do a job. Wouldn't trust him to score many goals but we aren't playing super class opposition for a while.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a cup final in 2 weeks with only one real proven striker in the squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aubameyang can play in the League Cup can't he?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. Mkhitaryan is cup tied but Auba is free to play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Auba was the ONE only proven striker I was referring to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Welbeck is proven. Not in a positive way, but definitely proved himself to be crap numerous times...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He did ok creating havoc when Giroud broke his leg. Even scored a hat trick as I remember.
Don't expect anything like that now but at least he is motivated compared to other non motivated players passing time, sitting on the bench.

I still remember THAT goal in the dying minutes against Leicester after he came back from injury.
I had so much hope for him after that.
Silly me.

Actually I expected it after Kroenke's success at being bold at the LA Rams.

Think that’ll be basically his season over for us. Probably around mid April before he’s back to full fitness

I know in the end we had to let Giroud go but I said early in the window that if we left things too long Dortmund would run out of time to find a replacement and we’d end up having to part ways with Giroud
We should have paid up from day one, the haggling and penny pinching cost us

How much did you pay for Auba in the end ? Doubt you got him for a big discount.

If Welbeck stays fit we won't lose anything - sure Welbeck isn't really a striker and can't hit a barn door from 15 yards but right now neither can Lacazette and Welbeck offers better qualities as a target man.
