Many people are suggesting that Frank Lampard shouldn't be playing all our games - and not entirely without reason. What I wanted to know was who would be our primary penalty kick taker, should neither Lampard or Drogba be on the field?

If Mata wanted to take them, I would let him.
He has been our best performer so far. Be nice to have the opportunity to pick up a few extra goals.

I don't like the idea of having one penalty taker. Get 5 or 6 of them to take turns so that they are all use to the pressure in case we have to win by a penalty shoot out in CL or something.

It also adds more variety for the opposing GKs to remember. GKs actually study penalty patterns before a game from what I have heard.

Because he had Gerrard at Pool, Lamps at Chelsea, and Villa/Iniesta/Xavi for spain

If he was good at them he would still take them sometimes. The fact that he's only taken one in the past 4 years and missed it suggests to me he isn't a penalty taker

Well how could he take pens when he was behind Gerrard and Kuyt in the pecking order and at spain behind Villa and now at Chelsea behind Lampard
