Rochdale replay on Wednesday and it’s time to bring up the question again.

Rotation or No-tation?

A good answer from poch
Your first string has beaten the like of Real Madrid and Manchester United, but your second string has draw with Newport and Rochdale?
But that's not true, I don't agree. If you see the starting XI against Rochdale, all play in the Champions League - Trippier, Alderweireld, Danny Rose, Wanyama, Lamela, Son, Moura, Sissoko.
We have a squad that all feel important. All these players that play in Champions League against Real Madrid, if you remember against Real Madrid we played Sissoko, Harry Winks, Fernando Llorente and then we play with Dier, Aurier, Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld. We rotate a lot during the whole season. Of course the temptation to say when you don't play with one or another, it's not the result because we play with one or another name - it's because the circumstances when you play in the FA Cup are completely different.
I promise you it's not guarantee, like in Newport we played Harry Kane and Mousa Dembele and look. We need to say thank you because we scored and played again in the replay. It's not about who's playing, it's the mentality and motivation and the competition is completely different to the Premier League and Champions League. We are capable of winning with one or another names on the pitch.

First teams are probably played less frequently than ever now, so this whole notion that rotation doesn’t exist is nonsense.
Guardiola didn’t name an unchanged team at Bayern for over 100 games.
Fergie’s treble team didn’t always have Yorke and Cole upfront.
Barca won a treble with Bravo and Ter Stegen being in goal for the league and cups respectively.
There might be about 10-15 games where we absolutely have to play our undisputed strongest team (although they might not always be fit when required). With a strong squad it should mean that we are able to chop and change our team when we see fit, as opposed to having some massive chasm between players in their respective positions.
