A lot has been said about our last 10 years under Wenger and how dismal they have been, but Wenger has always had the sweet comfort of knowing that teams like Liverpool and Spurs were performing even worse and in Liverpools case, spending more. Even in his 1st 10 years Wenger spent less or something equivalent to what Spurs was spending but the gap in quality was astonishing.
We saw the decline at least 8 years ago, but what kept the focus away from Wenger was the underachievement of particularly Liverpool. Consistently finishing in the top 4 and picking up a few trophies along the way always meant Wenger had leverage, not with all the fans but some and the boardroom.
It is all changing though.This consistency of Spurs and Liverpool means he has run out of excuses and the board will have to act because he wont resign.
Cant see him manage Arsenal next season.I hope we appoint Jardim

There are rumours that Wenger is going all out to win the EL and if he does he will get another 2 year contract extension.

If Wenger has been using other managers to smokescreen his ineptitude it has backfired spectacularly. Conte, for example, is having a supposed nightmare this season - and Chelsea are still comfortably above Arsenal. And Pochettino has never won the league with Spurs and probably never will, but he has easilly outperformed Wenger in the last few years.

To be fair I'd be open to a win the EL and we will give you an extension, but if you don't then you walk away at the end of the season. Theres far too much strength in the competition for us to win it.
