Eight defeats in 2018 - five in the league alone. I don't see how we can consider that anything other than relegation form.
Generally our performance this season has been little short of shocking. There is no desire in the team, and the results reflect it. We have a keeper who is a shadow of his former self, a back line who have all forgotten what defending is, a midfield devoid of creativity and forwards who simply aren't delivering on the scale we need - some of whom are contributing embarrassingly little considering what they are paid and expected to do. And lastly, a manager who simply seems to have lost his desire, his strategies and his way.
We are all but assured of no Champions League football next season, which has always been the bare minimum for us. We are also hell and gone from challenging for the league (obviously), fell at the last hurdle of the league cup and succumbed in the FA Cup to lower league opposition at the first possible juncture.
Our league form even early in the season might have been grounds for dismissal for a manager of other so-called big clubs, but surely our overall form coupled with any or all of our other failures is ample reason to terminate Wenger's contract.
Some people are saying we should just tolerate Wenger's stewardship until the summer and then rebuild but why wait? If someone comes in now, they will see the team in action and be able to make their own assessment - friendlies in the close season don't have the same effect. And our season is hardly going to get any worse, so why give Wenger the satisfaction of a more natural ending? We've tolerated so much, ando a rebuild needs to start now - enough is enough.

There's been too many rebuilding in recent seasons. Ramsey is going to leave this summer by the looks of it. Which adds to the number of long term players that have left last summer. This club goes through a new team every 4 seasons which isn't good.
The players are very good. Hope to God that the next man in can really inspire this lot

What rebuild can you do now though?

It would give the new manager a good opportunity to assess his squad, but...
"you're limited manager wise " is also true. Unless we want Tuchel - but considering his issues with Mislintant and Aubameyang in the past this seems an unlikely option.

Ancellotti is available and the right experience we need, for the short term. But tbh, i don't expect any serious talk of Wenger leaving to truly being (at board level) until we get knocked out of Europa league. And even then the likelihood of Wenger, a 21 year veteran at the club, getting the sack is very unlikely.
My guess is serious talks within board level has already begun for end of season change. Looks like Loew is favourite, but i don't think we'd have any trouble getting in plenty of willing top quality candidates. Just need the board to pick the right footballing person.

A good manager right now, with this squad, could win us the Europa League.
Wenger can't.
