Another morning after the night before as we sift through the ruins of yet more points thrown away against a team we ‘should’ be beating… or should we?
Are we actually good enough for promotion? Have we been at any point this season a team that looked capable of winning matches consistently? Or is it simply that we have had our purple patch and are now settling down to level that we are actually at… there are few false positions at this stage of the season, each club is where it deserves to be but with the vagaries of luck, decisions, and injuries still to play out over the full season, we may not yet have finished our descent.
The QPR equaliser was shambolic for any number of reasons; poor freekick to give away, bad marking, using Weimann as a wall despite it being only a few yards nearer than a regular corner kick; the bigger picture is that we had invited all of that pressure on instead of putting a poor QPR side to the sword. Now, we can all speculate as to the reasons the match went that way but we have sacrificed the vitality and energy of youth for experienced heads in the team so we shouldn't be panicked into playing as we repeatedly do.
Is it then a management ploy, a tactic that is worthy of NLN, to grab a solitary goal and then try to shut up shop? Are our fitness levels so impeded by the age of our players that we simply cannot sustain 90+ minutes twice a week? Is it, as suggested on other sites, that the players are consciously or subconsciously sabotaging their own season as they know they’ll have to move if we do achieve promotion?
It’s a quandary is what it is. I still hope GR has it in him to turn this around but I remain unconvinced by any of his transfer dealings to date; the only real success is Curtis and he’s no spring chicken but is definitely better than what we had or have, and yet the two loanees who have looked to have the most positive impact in Palmer and Winnall have each struggled to hold down a place under Rowett despite stand out performances.
So are we actually good enough, or are we deceived by a few results rather than performances? The derby this Sunday may well help in that form is supposed to go out of the window for such occasions, but an unfavourable result could well see the few dissenting voices joined by many more as confidence in the team and manager dip further still.
Were We Ever...?

I’m absolutely buzzing for Sundays’s game, personally. I reckon they think they’re going to batter us and I also think last night could have been a watershed game for us. A win would be massive... It’s backs to the wall time and I think we are going to be well up for it.
Gonna be a great atmosphere. Bring it on!

I still can't believe Gary didn't start Vyddi against a team shipping goals when he needed a confidence boost. Absolutely bonkers.
STEP YOUR GAME UP GARY.

Vydra strained his groin against Leeds and didn't do much against Fulham. Maybe Vydra was carrying an injury and Rowett didn't think he could play a full game. Could be better to bring him on later when the opposition is tired. We never know all the facts behind selection but it never stops us making judgements.

Spart so if you’ve got an answer for that one why did rowett make six changes against Sheffield Wednesday?

I promise you, we won’t batter you
The key moment will be, when we present you with the inevitable chances, will your dip in form and added pressure of the league situation mean you won’t be as clinical as you were earlier in the year
If not then we may go on the nick it, if you take the chances could be another 2-0 to you.

I didn't give you an answer Wassa, I gave you a possible reason. I may be wrong by a good country mile. I couldn't understand what Olsson and Wisdom had done so bad in the previous game to be dropped against Wednesday. It didn't do us much good though.

Bunk, think you are playing us at the right time and it is your chance to take the BC trophy. If you don't it might be another long wait to get your hands on it.

I am not seeing anything to suggest the cycle of the last 5/6 season will be broken for either of us
