The managerial merry-go-round is set to continue. This is bookies list to come in -
Luis Enrique - 11/10
Carlo Ancelotti - 11/4
Guus Hiddink - 3/1
Thomas Tuchel - 7/1
Marco Silva -12/1
Brendan Rodgers - 14/1
Louis van Gaal - 14/1
Maurizio Sarri - 14/1
Diego Simeone - 16/1
Zinedine Zidane - 16/1
Massimiliano Allegri - 20/1
The 4 I’d like to see the most out of this list are Simeone, Ancelotti, Sarri, and/or Allegri. Although I really don’t see Simeone giving up at Atletico any time soon.
Sunday was sort of the straw that broke the camels back for me. I love Conte for what he done last season. And in my opinion he is a fantastic manager, and coach who improves players and gets them to run through brick walls....when he wants them to. Unfortunately this season, it hasn’t been the case. And we have been so negative this season, it’s becoming harder and harder to stomach it.
That leads me on to my point. My first game watching Chelsea, was my old man taking me to the 94 FA cup final. Although coming away from that game distraught. I was lucky to then watch my club playing some phenomenal football with some exceptional talented players over the next few years. I think of that era of Hoddle (for bringing Gullit mainly) - Ranieri, as my favourite era for watching football. We could beat anyone on our day, and often did, but we always had a go at teams.
Obviously the following era took us to a whole other level, and together with United we’ve been the most dominant side in the country since. But there’s no doubting most of out managers in this period have had more of a ‘pragmatic’ approach. Ancelotti 2009/10, and Mourinho, at times, during the 2004-2006 seasons being the exceptions.
We’ve always won stuff with these managers, and I am not criticising a pragmatic approach at all. But I must say, I’d like us to have a more attacking approach in future. Let’s take risks. Let’s have a go.
The Luis Enrique link worries me. He got it spot on at Barca. Where as Tata Martino tried to fiddle too much. But at Celta, and Roma I thought he was very underwhelming.
I love Ancelotti, and would welcome him back with open arms. But probably the name that excites me the most from this list is Maurizio Sarri. He has quietly gone about putting that Napoli side together all while losing some top players along the way. But the way they play is exceptional. They play out from the back all the time. Their players are trusted. And they retain the ball as well as anyone. Their forwards and Hamsik have so much freedom. I’d love to this style for us.
Who next, after Conte?

Underwhelming list there. Never would want to see Rodgers, Van Gaal or Silva at Chelsea in a million years, Hiddink is past it as he proved two years ago and Enrique, Tuchel, Sarri and Zidane would struggle at Chelsea I’m pretty sure.
Can we just have Mourinho back?

I am not Wahl. Why is it such a surprise for a Chelsea fan to like Mourinho? I would think most Chelsea fans should love Mourinho

Based on the direction that the club appear to be going in, in terms of spending etc, I'd be tempted to try and get Sarri from Napoli. Not sure they'd particularly want to part with him though.
We have a very good record with Italian managers. In fact over the last 20 years outside of Mourinho the vast majority of trophies we've won have been won under Italian managers.

Well apart from your apparent love affair with Jose, you're the only person I've ever heard, Wahl apart, calling Pochettino, 'Pockets'!
