Man United deserved the win. We need to bin Lovren and let Matip form a partnership with VVD.

It was actually a good game of football to watch which has been better than some previous big battles we've had together.
I guess it just wasn't your lot's day today.
Mourinho knew what to do in this game, and i'm afraid that Klopp's tactics where a bit 'odd' at times but we're not complaining.

I think it's time to bench Mané. Worst player on the pitch today.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mane was our most threatening forward. Created our goal and had Bobby laid the ball off he would have been clean through. Sure some of final balls were poor but at least he was active and trying to make things happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he lost so many balls when you think something good was coming. He did threaten but it was more of a placebo effect, an illusion. Salah had a poor game aswell. Thought Firmini was the best of the 3.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All 3 were poor but what was worse was the service. Mane is unorthodox. He even got a flying kick to his shoulder which was not punished.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, I agree, it should have been a red. Valencia was lucky to walk away with yellow. We were missing a Coutinho and they defended well, Mata in particular and Robertson wasn't as effective going forward as usual because of him.

If the ref had given the two penalties - even Neville admitted they were - people wouldn't be making all these defeatist remarks.
14 shots to their 5 and 68% possession.
Not sure how Manu deserved the win.
We made 2 defensive set up errors and were punished for both, that was the difference, they weren't punished for theirs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel your pain, much like when we had Van Ghoul. 70% possession and 3-4 shots per match. Jose doesn't bring a bouquet of roses to the table, but he's damned good at results, like it or hate it.

How were Klopp's tactics a bit odd? Players made mistakes and didn't execute simple passes in the first half. Second half we tried to score and had all the ball basicly. Blaiming Klopp for that loss is either someone who doesn't like Klopp and wants to stick a boot to him or someone who doesn't understand the game well. None of the LFC players showed up today. They were out fought out passed. Players have to take responsibility when on the field.

Because his tactics weren't working. But he failed to address the problems. Yes, his players also weren't performing but that's also partly due to Mourinho's tactics. Klopp didn't show any signs to alter his game plan to get something from the game.

Full marks to ManU, a well-deserved win. Rashford has got a hell of a right peg on him, superb goals, well worked.
The Reds? A disjointed first half, no fluidity, no immediate response to their attacks. They fed our forwards into the centre, then killed off their attack.
It's easy to point fingers. The front three were at times non-existent. Mane, a fantastic player seemed to lose the ball or give it away too many times. Both Salah and Bobby were at times invisible. But none of the Reds shone. O-C looked thoroughly peed off when he was subbed; he could have been subbed earlier. They wound Trent up, and he rose to the bait.
So, we move on. United now five points above us. No sour grapes from me, but I can see that figure decreasing as the season goes on.
2nd slot is still there.

Matip is no better than Lovren. Neither is good enough for a team that wants to be challenging for trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vvd is no better either
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn't put a foot wrong today and was dominating Lukaku when they clashed. Still the best cb in the league imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where has this notion that he’s that he’s the best CB in the league come from?

He changed the formation from the 60th minute to go to 3 at the back, bringing on Wij, Lallana and eventually Solanke as well.
But yeah he didn’t alter his game plan

What exactly were Klopp's tactics? Haven't seen Liverpool this poor in a long time. Top scorer Salah was a non-factor.
