Interesting article, pretty much says what some think- that his methods are outdated and ineffective these days.
Thoughts?

The problem with Mourinho is if you get results you take it but when you don't get results there is a huge backlash on the style of play.

Taking into account the consistency of getting wins (especially in the big/pressure games - even away from home), the amount of money spent and the qualities of the players yes?
For a 'top draw' manager, he has underachieved at the elite level with this club. You can talk about last season - winning trophies etc, but that was last season (not to mention we finished a disappointing 6th). Every season we should remain competitive regardless even if we fail in the end. This season we showed no character in competing.

me people were hailing this guy as potentially the best midfielder of his generation. Absolute jokers.

There’s always people who are blinded by cheap parlour tricks l, and there’s then those that understand the game. He’s not cut out to be an all around mf player, as he lacks the awareness and tactical nous, amongst other things.

Pogba can be frustraing one minute and sublime the next. The problem is he doesn't perform consistent enough as a reliable creative midfielder. And as other have said, he does lack important awareness at times and for a player of his physique, he should be more of a commanding player.

Indeed- however we don’t realky use him to his strengths which doesn’t help. Ge’ll Never control games like pirlo, and he’s not makalele, but if we free him up, and use him as an attacking outlet then we will see better.
Trouble is, I’m not sure he wants to be here that much anymore...

One of our YouTube fans thought he had leadership qualities.
I was dumbfounded. Did they not watch the Euros when the going got tough. Pogba wasn't there for France, that is for sure.

He was massively outshone by Kante, and that bloke from West Ham at the euros.

Most people saw it coming tbf. We did it in Europa last season and got lucky, in the CL teams out you away.

I think he doesn't see it as his responsibility to control the game like other commanding players do. But i feel he is happy enough to bake in the sunshine of praise when the team is doing well.
He likes to play with more freedom, and be that creative spark. But he forgets that at times he needs to offer that assurance that he can keep the play safe and not put us under pressure when he fecks up with his play.

It was clear at the Euros he is not a midfielder who can play deep in a 2.
His lack of effort on the defensive side cost them, just like it does us.

I wish we could find a twenty four year old Bryan Robson somewhere.
We have needed a Robbo for a long time now, more than any other kind of player.
