In the literal sense, schmeichel’s fault that we lost 2-1. But Puel has some big questions to answer. Chilwell has been poor, was at fault last weekend but we fortunately played a terrible team. This afternoon, any other player would have put in a challenge and taken the booking as Chelsea countered for their first goal but didn’t. Was also terrible with his challenge and positioning for their second and too, Iheanacho was generally awful but specifically produced a terrible pass for their first goal. There is picking players and those players being generally awful and taking some responsibility for that, and there is picking two players who didn’t deserve to start in the first place and those two players not only being our poorest performers but contributing to our defeat. Whilst we may still have lost because of other reasons, if Okazaki and Fuchs start today, we don’t concede at least one of those goals and perhaps win 1-0.

Totally agree KTF. Can completely see why Southampton fans wanted Puel out

I can almost...only almost...just about excuse the chance given to Iheanacho after a decent sub performance last week. In no world has he contributed more that Okazaki and there is the fact we simply are just so much better with Okazaki...but I tried to stay positive. However....Iheanacho coming out for the second half was inexcusable from a managerial perspective.
Chilwell, I can kind of understand him getting some match time for progression of a youth player. But after recent performances didn’t deserve to start the next league game, let alone in a one off game where we needed experience.

One more thought on yesterday’s game which might have decided the outcome. Moses was a lucky boy to stay on the pitch for elbowing Iborra. He was finally found out with a yellow card for wrapping his arm around Albrighton’s neck. Either one red for the first offence or a yellow on each of the occasions.

KTF can't agree its the players fault as the southampton players have now proved with Puels replacement.
But don't worry he will have a clear out
