1. Appoint a director of football to handle transfers and be an ambassador for the club, someone such as Eric Cantona or Bryan Robson.

2. Revamp the scouting department to get back to finding rough diamonds to mould in the image of the club.

3. Implement a style of play that runs through the whole club, that is learned by the youngsters and carried through each age level.

4. Put succession plans in place so someone like Nicky Butt would be well placed to take over the first team when the time comes, much like Pep at Barça or Zidane at Madrid.

5. Get rid of any players deemed to be a bad influence or have the wrong attitude.

6. Hire a coach that coaches attacking and possession based play with penetration and not just possession for the sake of it.
