What's more depressing than going back to work after a great week off?
You're right - it's supporting Dundee United!
I missed three home games in the last week or so and I'm sorry to report that I didn't miss a single home win. Two draws and a defeat was the return for our weeks work and it sees the Terrors slip down to fourth in the Championship, albeit with games in hand.
It's a sorry state of affairs and there is a very palpable whiff of desperation around the club at the moment. This was perhaps the catalyst for the move to bring Paul Sturrock back to the club in a coaching capacity last week. Now I love Luggy, he's rightly a club legend and he has always kept United close to his heart. He even posts on United Mad every now and then. But I fear he's being used and I wonder what this will actually achieve.
Laszlo has been a disaster, there's no doubt about that. He has no idea what his best team is, he chops and changes every week and there's no consistency. His January signings have been duds. He can't get the best out of the players and he is unpopular with the players.
But the bigger problem is the players. They are lazy, they lack commitment and they act like brats. They should have professional pride and realise that they, the highest paid team in the league, are woefully underachieving. Regardless of their relationship with the manager, they should be giving us a hell of a lot more.
Former player Coll Donaldson was in the press this weekend talking about the toxic atmosphere between supporters and the players and, while he made a number of valid points, he also left out the fact that he was one of the most unprofessional players I've ever seen at Tannadice. He epitomised the type of player we have - willing to take the cash and not give a feck. I'm pleased for him that he's sorted his attitude out at Inverness, and no doubt being away from the distractions of the central belt has helped him, but he was too busy phannying around to act like a professional footballer. The fans hated him because he was utterly terrible and didn't care.
It's a sorry state of affairs and crowds are dwindling. Season tickets go on sale this week and to be frank I'm starting to talk myself out of getting one for next season. I doubt I'm alone in that.
It's a tough, tough time to be a United fan. I'm not going to say we deserve better - in life you often get what you deserve - but with the resources we have we should be doing a hell of a lot better than we are.

I heard Moshni is doing well though!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently he was our best player on Saturday so no idea why he was singled out by the manager.

I never intended it as WUM, heard he played well though was probably at fault for one of the goals.
Lazlo really is a poor manager sooner you get him out the better it will be for you

So the bet is a one month name change on who finishes higher between united or st mirren
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed đ
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And if st mirren finish ahead of United I will give you a long, slow blowy as a bonus đ

Magic
Cheers Curly
I hope that I said I'm the giver if I win though

Sounded like Ralston had a good game!
Horrendous season for Dundee Utd so far! If you look at the team on paper it certainly should be doing a lot better! Wasn;t so long ago the club had regular trips to hamlden for semi's and finals. Brutal!

I thought Moshni did.
Jim Spence was saying Ralston was very good. Looking through the twitter updates it seems he was involved a lot.

Well you could always pay at the gate if you're in the vicinity
Isn't Warburton between jobs at the minute. Must be a better shout than Laszlo (sp).

That's not a bad idea TBF. He is a great Championship manager and brings delusions of success at the top.
You could also sign Barton once his most recent suspension is up
