Puel's no.2 Michael Appleton is the bookies favourite, but according to Sky the other frontrunners include Pearson and Shakey- they don't say whether together or separately. Pearson would be a good bet to take the Baggies straight back up, I read that several of the senior players were acting up and not backing Pardew. Nigel would soon sort them out, having previously dispatched Beckford and several others.

Why does Appleton keep getting linked with jobs? He may be a decent assistant but not as a manager.
Depending on what happens at Derby Rowett may also be available but he may not be first choice. Pearson would be good even if he is a priick.

There were rumours of Appleton in the Summer, I guess anyone with old links to a Club become 'favourites' but he does seem to be the one they want.
