CHAMPIONS

Welcome back to the top tier St Mirren. They got over the line on Saturday to be crowned Champions.

This achievement should not be overlooked as this time last year they were still facing relegation from the Championship and indeed only secured safety on the last day of the season.

This year they have seen off early challenges from Dunfermline and latterly from Livingston for the title.

A few bumps on the way which is not unexpected given the relative financial disparity between them and a lot of the teams.

Well done St Mirren and huge congrats to Jack Ross. A top manager in the making.

Oh and fvck Dundee Utd

Congratulations to St Mirren. The best team generally wins the league and the best team won the league this season.

I find it surprising how much they seem to want to rub it in our faces because of a tweet that had nothing to do with them in December, but hey ho, we can't all be good winners.

Good luck in the Premiership. With that squad they'll need it.

I don’t really follow lower league football but this season there have been some decent teams down in that division, with St Mirren, Livingston, Morton, Dunfermline, QOTS, Falkirk, Inverness, Dumbarton and Brechin all looking pretty decent at times, just a shame the rest of the league is such poor quality. St Mirren will likely be relegated by late August but will be a really good trip to Paisley twice a year. Really nice place.

They will struggle. The gap between the top of the Championship and bottom of the Premiership is bigger than some give credit to

The gap is massive. I wasn't being bitter or whatever with that comment - they'll easily be relegation favourites with that squad. I like Jack Ross and keeping him may be the difference between relegation and promotion.

I wouldn't expect any Championship team - including St Mirren - to win a play off against a Premiership team.

How about the gap to the middle of the Championship? So we have a better idea of just how good this United side are?

Glen, I'm starting to think you don't read the DUFC match reports and news articles.

We're dreadful.

I briefly read my comments that I put on the news articles. Other than that, no.
