Boring Boring Villa

Can you imagine watching Villa in 3-D?

Oh hang on a minute, we already do..............DULL, DRAB and DOUR. Every single game.

I warned before the season kicked off that under McLeish, Villa would finish 10th and nobody would notice that we are even around this season. If anyone thinks that this 'unbeaten' start is good, they are very badly deluded. A start to the season involving Fulham, Blackburn, Wolves, Everton and Newcastle was a dream for McLeish. Add to that list, newly-promoted QPR and a defeat next week (and they're buzzing and flying now) adds up to a very poor start to the season.

I don't think Villa will be in trouble this season because McLeish will make them hard to beat and we have a good squad. However, McLeish has very quickly turned Villa into the Birmingham City side of 2009-10. For those who don't know what I mean, it's the team that strangled the life out of every game they played, were based around a goalkeeper and two central defenders in the form of their lives. This paired with a no nonsense, unambitious, hard-working and limited midfield and speedy, non-scoring forwards. Already familiar? It should be? That Blues team did go something like 13 games unbeaten but the football was atrocious and it only took a couple of injuries to bring the whole thing crashing down around McLeish.

Compare the signings of N'Zogbia and Hleb too. At the time I couldn't believe that Blues had landed Hleb, yet McLeish's tactics turned the Barcelona man into an ineffectual and non-threatening player. Likewise, N'Zogbia was a sensational attacking threat last season. This season? .....just think Alexander Hleb!

It's deeply ironic that Villa fans kicked up such a fuss about McLeish being the Blues manager. It was the wrong protest! They should have protested long and loud about the 'anti-football' of McLeish. A brand of football not welcome or wanted at Villa Park.

We have a Carling Cup tie up next and there must be only one requirement. A thumping win and ENTERTAINING football. If not, if you love the game, then you have to make your views known.

The honeymoon is over for McLeish. We don't want this football at Villa Park.

Spot on Brad.

As a Villa fan, I used to look forward to every match. Now, the only thing I'm looking forward to is the day McLeish leaves our club and this living nightmare ends - I just hope we're still in the Premier League when it happens.

It really would serve the board right if there was a shocking attendance on tuesday and onwards. They could have no complaints after their sheer defiance towards the fans they now expect to roll through the turnstiles regardless. What an appalling way to treat your most valued customers.

During his 18 month tenure, our Chief Executive has shown how massively out of his depth and naive he truly is and if the club are looking to cut costs, then his 6 figure salary should be the next one to go, I'll even clear the c***s desk for him.

lionbrad, I totally agree. I've no problems with McLeish, I've every problem with McLeish as the manager he is, as many feared, turning out to be.

At the moment he's surviving on the talents of the defence and the odd bit of positive elsewhere, like Gabby back scoring goals. It won't get better. It will get worse. And I'm not sure we will survive; the very few wins we'll get will guarantee us being in the bottom half at least.

Lerner, you've got to start planning for a change, quietly perhaps, but plan.

This isn't about results. When the anti-McLeish feeling was at it's height, I was actually arguing that McLeish had a very good track record and he would bring reasonable results to Villa.

It's purely about the rubbish, negative football employed by McLeish. Already the attendances have dropped sharply and they will continue to do so.

I know that we will not be qualifying for Europe, whoever is boss. That boat has sailed. O'Neill had the keys to the Champions League only he fumbled and dropped them in the sea! Anyway, I digress.

Knowing that we will achieve nothing, I would much rather finish 15th, playing great football, than finish 10th under McLeish. Football is a business. Like all businesses, there must be a good product to 'sell' to it's 'customers'. If not, they won't come to you.
