Pep still doesn't play any of the kids

City are league winners and still doesn't give the countless talented academy players they have a start. What message does that send out? It can only be a good thing for us being their neighbours anyway. Young players will start to think twice about signing for them as they don't get a chance.

I saw on twitter last week that he's given City academy players just 46 mins of league action across the entire season so far. The worst return of any of the top 6 managers by an absolute mile. This coming from somebody who once bemoaned clubs buying up talent when they had academy prospects ready to go (when he was Barca manager)

I mean well done Pep you've deservedly won the league but how is Foden and co going to get a chance if you won't even play them when there's nothing riding on it?

Poor from Pep. Media won't say anything.

While I see Eric's point, putting out a weak team could be unfair to the other teams at the bottom if a team at the top were to do something ridiculous like losing to a team in relegation trouble. Would you not say Eric?

Stretty does.

His concern is well known.

I don’t think he’s quite ready just yet, thought a game like today where he can come on for a decent amount of time and not be afraid of trying anything is ideal at this stage.

Next season, I can see him starting a few.

I think he’s only about 70% ready and I hope we continue to ease him in gradually and he can be a great player for us.

As for stretty he drips bitterness he’s so Bent out of shape that the press compliment pep and our brand of football.

Stretty can focus on the FA Cup. Two decidedly average teams but at least most of the fans won't have to travel very far. His bitterness needs to have a vent I suppose.

It will be like a home match for those supporters.

As Eric said before only he has local rivalry down because he’s the only local nited fan on here.

Now if he could only remember where he was born.

LQ. No he's not, or at least I was a local fan until I retired. Prestwich born and bred.

I can see Foden starting a PL game this season and it'll be on merit.

Pep might sure that the records are in the bag first as he's a sensible manager.

How can Foden not be ready to start in a PL game?

Sorry, I just don't buy that at all.

Youth players are never 'ready'. That's the point. They need chances and we've certainly been over this again and again... very interested to see what Pep does in the coming year because he is showing very little signs of caring about youth development at this stage.

Agreed, his record speaks for itself not many can match it.

I trust the managers judgment over some bitter who’s stretching to find a thing to have a pop over.
