Mo Salah - best player in the EPL

since Ronaldo - or is that hyperbolic?

Edit: I'm only talking about during a particular season. Like compared to Suarez's 13/14 season, Bales 12/13 etc.

As a Chelsea fan I remember being excited about Hazard's 14/15 season, and believing he could kick on.

It's interesting how players develop, as I would even still class Hazard as the more talented player, but Salah has much more application which makes him frankly better.

Yeah agree with that. Also the teams they play in have an effect. I think Hazard would be more productive playing in this Liverpool team. The opposite would be true of Salah for Chelsea.

I think it's also the product of very good management and coaching. Klopp seems to have an effect of raising many young and attacking players talents beyond their respective potential.

Hazard really hasn't that with either Conte or Mourinho, both were more concerned with defence. I think Hazard a few years ago, would have thrived under Klopp, but I would be reluctant to say he would now. If anything areas have regressed from his game, he's far less creative than he was when he first joined for example.

Also his movement has always been awful off the ball, and it has always hindered his goal scoring.

What I would say is though I doubt players like Azpi, Luiz, Alonso, Moses would have flourished under a manager such as Klopp.

How about the mighty Glenn Kamara at Arsenal?

That's what I like most about him. The fact that he comes across as genuinely a decent bloke. No frills. No silly haircuts, no silly dances, no front page headlines. Just a bloke who wants to good football without acting like a nob. Unlike some of the big time Charlies that play for the other big clubs including my own.

I think he still would. The creaticity thing is a part of the team dynamic as well. Just look at the speed and movement that Liverpool play at compared to Chelsea, he’s have more space and passing options. There are areas that perhaps he may not improve drastically on I agree but I do think playing in a team with a more attacking approach, and better attackers, would see Hazard improve - certainly in terms of production. Lots of talk of that being at Madrid, but I’m not so sure if they’ll be that bothered about getting him when the likes of Salah and Neymar could potentially be in their sights.

OP.

Really good comment on the other Salah article. The club should learn from the KDB sale, and to their credit I believe they have now (e.g. Christensen, no sell on fee for Bats, etc...), but we as fans can learn from our opinions of Salah when he was here.

He looked raw as hell playing for us, but to be fair he was only 21 y/o. The "Egyptian Messi" tag line really killed him before he'd even played a game for us, and his performances reflected a typical all hype youngster. The fact Rodgers was the one who initially really rated him also didn't help (in hindsight now makes perfect sense, sub-par manager but knows his youngsters). All the omens just didn't suggest he was anything special, but that's our fault for not even giving him the opportunity to prove us wrong.

It does make you think, as pitifully awful as Bakayoko has been we did buy him for a reason, and in a handful of games this season he has shown glimpses (just as Salah did) of some raw attributes that could potentially form the foundation of a quality player in a few years if he matures into his position. Maybe we shouldn't give up on him just yet, loan him out for sure but don't dismiss the possibility he might surprise us

Its astounding how good he's actually got...given how poor on the ball he was for us in the limited time we saw him...what's his secret...how has he improved so much is astounding

We saw something similar in Leicester's winning season with Mahrez, the devastating left foot throws defenders that's for certain

One wonders how effective Firmino would be without Salah too....he's good but could he do what Kane does alone

Im more annoyed we let De Bruyne go as he looked good anytime I seen him... Salah on the other hand was pinging shots out for throw ins at Shrewsbury away, Nobody could have forseen this form.

Firmino is hugely under-rated I think.
Salah wouldn't have the figures he has without Firmino, because Firmino creates space & plays him in a lot.

Salah wouldn't have the figures he has with Kane either, 'cos Kane would claim about 29 of them.

I would still rate Suarez as the best since Ronaldo. He just had a little more magic and unpredictably (both good and bad) up his sleeve imo.
Salah has been incredible though. I wouldn't swap him for any player in the world right now.
