We have to win - end of. A draw is no use because Barnsley will not lose 15-0.
In addition, we need:
- neither Burton nor Barnsley to win, or
- one of Burton and Barnsley not to win and Birmingham to lose with a four-goal swing to us
- any other permutation and we're gone. Forget about Reading, we won't gain 14 goals on them.
All three of the teams playing Burton, Barnsley and Birmingham have something to play for, whereas Forest might be on the proverbial beach. But is that a good thing? I can see Preston losing the will to fight if Derby score early, and that would spur Burton on. Really hard to call this. For what it's worth the bookies have us 10/11 to win but still 1/2 to go down.
It's going to be gripping, nailbiting, absorbing ... all the cliches. In a strange way I am looking forward to it even though it might be a very deflated feeling by the end.
Permutations on final day

Arvin Appiah will be missed tonight I think. He has become a bit of a talisman for the youngsters.
Still fingers crossed. They seamed to take a bit of a dip in form when Jack Lester departed but they have got their mojo back in the last few games.

Connor Hall missing for the Whites tonight there is still plenty of goals in there without the top scorer.
Lets hope Ken has no thoughts of playing him on Sunday that's not the game to be considering him for.

How many if any are going to progress though? King and earing have featured in the cups but get dropped back and end up getting released.

Nowt will change with the youth coming through until the club changes its mentality towards them.
PG had the right words but the wrong way of going about it and appointing managers when he said we were a trading club.

Crewe fielded an academy 11 against Cheltenham in today and won 2-1.
Shame our young lads are suffering from too much pizza and Barrs shandy from all their celebrations or we could have gone with the Crewe idea

Getting set for the drive up to the Reebok. Mixed feelings. Have family ties to Bolton but I am a Forest boy!

That's the latest additions to PP's book of excuses out of the way as we await Ken's team sheet.
