For those who preferred to go to Menorca

Pride Park baked in the midday sun and it made a difference as the players on the pitch had to manage their efforts or risk heat stroke. That must have been Barnsley’s excuse anyway because for a team that needed to get something they never really threatened save for a stunning strike that left Carson rooted to the spot on 80 minutes with the game lost.
The only change from Villa was Pearce for Ollson who only lasted half an hour before going off injured to be replaced by Vydra.
On the quarter hour Barnsley needed a goal as Jerome had just out sprinted the Tykes rear-guard to charge into the area at full clip and smash the opener into the roof of the net, beating the keeper at the near post.
Jerome thought he had a second soon after when a marauding Keogh saw his shot come off the bar. Jerome deftly controlled the rebound with his left arm and smashed it into the onion bag but the Ref saw it and it was disallowed.
As I said Barnsley offered little, a couple of crosses that might have caused problems if one or two of the Barnsley players weren’t managing their efforts and tried to get onto them. But that was that and we went in at halftime comfortable at 1 nil.
Who ever thought Rammie was a goalkeeper needs their bumps felt. Every week gets beat by 3 year old kids. He needs to buck up or look for another career. Why Rowett keeps picking him for the half time slot is mystifying. Shows a lack of judgement in my opinion.
2nd half and still scorchio. Jerome turned provider to square one for Vydra to slot home from 4 yards to win the golden boot, seeing off a challenge from Grabban and several other more expensive strikers.
Nugent replaced Jerome around the hour mark and shortly after nodded home at the far post from a Vydra cross.
Quite why Barnsley fans started cheering and singing staying up was beyond me.
I’ve been through the results and times of the goals scored in the relevant
fixtures and it seems to me that they were cheering Forest’s equaliser at Bolton. The problem was that Burton had equalised at Preston 7 minutes earlier which meant that Barnsley we not safe at any point in the second half.
Lawrence got a tap in from a cross from Nugent and aside from Barnsley’s consolation that was that.
Play off football at Derby. COYR.

How do you know I am not Elton John?

A nursing home and the upper east stand.

Scouse go for the south side of the East Stand close to the away fans. You get to sit down and have a good sing and a bit of banter with the away fans. Probably the best place in the ground for a bit of everything.
I wouldn’t steer you wrong.

Seksual proclivities, Spart.

If I was in the market for a ticket at 9am tomorrow Scouse, I'd be going for the back row of the SW Upper.
Q lively, stand up and sing without peeing anybody off and close to the noisy boys in the S Stand.

So I assume that the game will be on telly box so no way for us out of towners to see it, only audio?

Seems likely, sorry.

It’s South Stand, East Side for singing & banter Scouce all day long. East stand only sing with South tell them too. I expect to be losing my voice on Friday.

SW upper is ok, I’ve been in there a couple of times.

You will need to phone to get a ticket for South they aren’t available online.

Unless you are prepared to pay a fortune, in front of a television in a pub or home. If you are in the gods you have a better view on your phone screen.

Certainly not block 529.
Up in the Gods, miles from the action. Surrounded by 'friends & families'. Only sign of support nearby was from the QPR fans waving their little blue flags.
Still have my planning notes, saying where everyone on here was sitting. Boy, I was keen in those days.
If we make it again, we must be more co-ordinated as a group, even if it's a meet-up beforehand ?
