That makes sense at least if Emery doesn’t succeed Arteta can takeover in future but right now it would be a huge risk to appoint Mikel Arteta on his own who lacks experience and a novice at this level.
Unai Emery is very successful manager and will transform Arsenal into competing once again.
Unai Emery & Arteta makes sense

Fack Arteta, we need Unai Emery he’s available and ready unless this boardroom needs more toxic environment like last one at Emirates. They cannot have their cake and eat it, so appointing Arteta means they aren’t up to job or trying to save money belonging to our club for their own selfish interests aka dividends to Kroenke.

Was very happy when club announced that wenger was leaving. Great manager in the past but club needed to go in a different direction. I honestly thought he would see out his contract, but figured the club would have his replacement on speed dial...
Skip forward over a month and the two names being spoken about are Artera and Emery 😆 not that I am suggesting either of those would do a bad job, but...
Liverpool come close to winning the league, sack the manager and get Klopp; City bring in Pep; United sack Van Gal to bring in Jose; Chelsea get basically any big named manager as soon as they need one, which ever other season... Arsenal lose Wenger and go for Arteta :/

Emery is not such a bad choice. Arteta on the other hand scared me.

I suppose Emery is not that bad, if not a tad underwhelming. On the positive any change is better than continuing on the downward spiral we have been on the last few years

While not my favourite choice, i would be relatively satisfied with Emery, but i agree that it seems the job will go to Arteta, which imo would be a cowardly move by the board.
We need a manager that will challenge the board on the big issues, not a yes man.

This is going to drag on all summer until the real plan becomes clear... Gazadis becomes manager, mislintat assistant and sanhelli* kit manager.

Note the piece aboard the board effectively having control over the transfers. Straight micro-management from upstairs and a recipe for disaster no matter who is the manager. This will no doubt be how Arteta ended up in the frame. No manager worth his salt sticks around with that type of crap from the owner/board. It's one of the reasons nobody stays at Chelsea long. Can't put up with Abromovic interfering.
Even Arteta has enough presence of mind to be insisting it is him who retains transfer control. The last thing we need now is the board after years of inaction heaping too much on Wenger, to now 180 to and start hampering any new manager by demanding to run the team from upstairs.
Regardless whom comes in, the board's apparent will to influence too much within the team does not bode well for the club's certainly immediate future. At this rate WOBs will be yelling "Come back Arsene, we need you" by bloody Christmas. Instead of fans being up in arms yelling about the choice of manager. Maybe they should be more focused on sending a message to the board whom is the cause of the problem recruiting a top one. With it's ridiculous notion of having more say in who's in the team/club than the manager. Yell loud enough and maybe, just maybe Gadzadis can be jogged on in favour of someone who actually knows how to run a football club. The only influence over transfers the board should have is the yes or the no for the transfer fee. Outside that, feck off and leave the manager to run his team.

Why would Arteta move from one assistant managers role to another?

Much more chance of the permanent job
