I've no idea what UEFA plan to do with them now, but this could be good news for any Liverpool fans travelling to Kiev without a ticket.
Certainly seems like you'll have the edge in the stands, although that was probably always going to be the case.
Hoping for a good game and a Madrid win, obviously, but I have no real animosity towards Liverpool either, so good luck for the final and may the best team on the night lift the trophy.
Madrid return 1,500 unsold tickets to UEFA

Almost forgot.
A good friend of my brother's, who lives in Liverpool, has two tickets for the Champions League Final. They're box seats, and include return travel and hotel accommodation in Kiev. He didn't realize when he bought the tickets that this is the same day as his wedding - so he can't go. If you're interested and want to go instead of him: It's at St James's Church in Bootle at 3pm. Her name is Susan.

What a plonker to leave his wife at the altar. I'll go instead of him. It will be a fest

I fell foul of something similar for the Athens final in 07.
Milan returned a bunch of unsold tickets and an Irish Travel agent got their hands on around 250 tickets.
I got apackage with them flights, hotlel and match ticket, 2.5K.
Only when we got to the game itself did we discover we were smack bang in the middle of the Milan end, and even worse the cants gave us t-shirts to wear to the game to "Identify you as an Irish Liverpool fan". Fecking t-shirt was balck with red writing...
Was lucky that where we were the Milan fans were geenrally fine, couple of lads got a bit loud at one point but nothing happened, there was 1 steward for the entire section who was a tiny fella, had anyting happened it coudl have been carnage.
And we lost...

To be fair, they were tickets returned by Milan fans, did you expect them to be anywhere else but in the Milan end?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, but major problem is we were never told this by the travel agent, found out when we got to the ground the day of the game.

But surely your automatic assumption is that it is in the Milan end? I mean, we had sold out our allocation so it wasn't going to be amongst them...unless you didn't realise the additional tickets were returned by Milan fans?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No didn't realize they were returend as the travel agent does match packages for all games, so assumed they were Liverpool end tickets they had.
Should have asked of course, and it was grand overall like no trouble going in or out and bar a few lairy Italian lads in the ground it was fine.

Yeah that's it was just a bit sneaky of the travel agent, especially the fecking t-shirt!
Was a great trip though bar the result of course, the night before the game in Sygtagma Square (I think that's what it's called) was great, packed with reds singing songs and having a great laugh, no trouble at all.
The venue for the final was booze free which wasn't great but was hanging from the nigth before so didn't mind so much.
Also F*****K Inzaghi

What a bummer, kr, the losing bit I mean.
Never really understood mob mentality myself. You have to be a total pr*ck to take advantage of numbers so you can taunt, intimidate or hurl abuse at a total stranger, not to mention one who's completely isolated and outnumbered. It's onlya f*ckin' game, ffs!
Fortunately though, it's just a minority of dipsticks nowadays who give football fans a bad name. At least in Spain, as long as you don't somehow land yourself in a firm section, the vast majority know how to behave and will shout down any imbecile who oversteps the limits of normal banter.

Yeah, but at that stage they'd returned them to the club, who've only been able to reallocate a small part.
The outstanding 1,500 have now been sent back to UEFA.
I hope all the hotels who cancelled bookings in the hope they'd have other fans to rip off have been left with a lot of empty rooms.
At the very least, they'll have been absolutely slaughtered on travel websites. A good warning to would be visitors that they'll be putting themselves into the hands of crooks.
