Are there any out there who could rival Zizou!
Zidane is the first coach to win the European Cup/Champions League three times in a row.
He has joined Bob Paisley (three at Liverpool) and Carlo Ancelotti (AC Milan two, Real Madrid one) as the only managers to have won the trophy three times. At 45, Zidane is the youngest manager to lift the trophy for the third time. Ancelotti was 54 and Paisley was 63.
Zidane has a 100% success rate in all 18 international knockout ties as manager since taking charge of Real in January 2016. This includes the Champions League, Uefa Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Zidane has been in charge at Real for 149 games, winning nine trophies, meaning the club claim silverware, on average, every 17 games under him.
He's made some Start, If Stevie G does half as well that'll be just fine

See if you had smaller clubs making it further and winning more money, it'd level the playing field somewhat and make the competition more open.

And yet if a smaller team won the Scottish Premiership it would be derided in this country as a negative thing, particularly by the Celtic (and Rangers) support.
In this argument I don't like that the big clubs are pulling away because it's not good for football as a whole, but at the same time I have no sympathy for clubs like Celtic (and no doubt other big fish in small pond clubs) who don't see the irony of them doing the same thing domestically as the big clubs are doing in Europe.

you think so?
i don't. i won't pretend that i'd be disgusted if hearts won it but thats cause their fans are whanks and they deserve nothing more that herpes.
i dont think someone else stepping up is a negative though.
i take the point on celtic but we live within our means, thats not our fauly and the game here is not designed to favour us is it?
you could say the cups, but then how far do you go?

I would love it if for instance if Dundee Utd and Aberdeen competed like they did in the 80’s - my favourite time supporting Celtic - real competition

Going back to my last point, whenever there's been a challenge it's because Celtic/Rangers standards have slipped not because the other team has raised their game. We're told it's a deterioration in our game and that this is a bad thing.
Plus we're always told that Scottish football needs a strong Rangers and Celtic at the top of the league - it needs it's two biggest clubs at the top, and that's all it needs.

The last real challenge was Hearts, back when George Burley was in charge and that wasn’t written off as slipping standards from the OF.

Yes it was. Rangers standards that season were really average and take away the European run and it was the worst season since the 80s. Rangers were abysmal in autumn and went 10 games without a win. Celtic still won the title by a margin as Hearts chucked it away once Rix got in.
