Summertime, and the livin' is easy....


It's June ladies and gentlemen, and by anyones book that makes it summertime!

Unless you're in the Southern Hemisphere then it's winter

Speaking of the Southern Hemisphere, the random guy from Argentina who supports United on twitter came to Tannadice yesterday. Yes, he flew all the way to Scotland just to visit Tannadice for the first time. I hope he had a good time.

On to more important matters, the club has been busy making TRANSFERS

Let's introduce our new players.

First up is new right back Sam Wardrup, signed from Celtic. Sam had been out on loan at Dumbarton where he impressed.

On the other side is Callum Booth, with the left back signing from recently relegated Partick Thistle. Booth is apparently good going forward and has a very good delivery, although may struggle defensively.

These two signings impress me as I've consistently stated that the teams who do well in this league are the ones who get good attacking threats from full backs. Hopefully both can contribute to a successful campaign.

This morning we've announced our next signing and that's former Ross County striker Craig Curran. The forward hasn't been the most prolific in his time in Dingwall and United have signed him on a three year deal, which surprised me. However hopefully he'll give us a different option.

Next week I expect a new keeper in the door and also Fraser Aird to sign when he's back from his holiday.


The squad as it is at the moment is starting to shape up, but we need more depth. We need two central defenders (the crucial signings imo), at least one if not two new CMs, another winger and possibly another target man striker.

RB: Wardrup, Murdoch
LB: Robson, Booth
CB: Edjenguele, Scobbie, Toshney (all scheidt)
CM: Fyvie (injured at the start of the season), Stanton, Allardice
RM: McMullan
LM: King
ST: Clark, Curran, Keatings, Smith (can play in the attacking midfield roles too)

As I say, it's starting to shape up and hopefully we'll have a squad together for the start of the league cup games and they can gel before the league begins.
