Chelsea Team 10s

As it says on the tin, Nearly in the 2020's so who would be your chelsea team of the 10s.

Oppo fans get involved with your team if you'd like.

Cech
Azpi JT Cahill Cole
---------Kante-----------
Lampard----mata-----
--------hazard-----------
---costa-------drogba--

Not really a formation catered to lamps or drogba, but I think this is the best of the bunch. Defence was suprisingly easy compared to the 00s where we had Cole,Gallas,Ricky C,Alex,JT, Ivan, Ferreira and a few others to choose from.

Notable exceptions for me are Luiz who I thought was unreal 2 years ago but just hasn't done enough over the years and Ivanovic who was great for us but azpi just edges him out.

I would probably expect some to swap in luiz for cahill?

And Fabregas for a more balanced formation with hazard out wide?

By the way I’m not disagreeing with u - - -, or anyone for that matter. It’s all opinions, just tryna get this bird alive again.

But opposition fans kind of use it as a stick to beat Czech with alluding to he become crap post injury. I think he even won golden gloves at arsenal, and theyre a mess at the back! Lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Im not using it as a stick to beat him with, given how good he was (Messi of keeper level imo) before his injury, saying he wasn't the same after shouldn't be deemed offensive.

If i had to rank his season's for us this is how i'd do it.

04/05
05/06
10/11
09/10
06/07
11/12 (based on league this season would be dead last, but the Cups power it up the scale)
14/15 (he covered any Tibo absence admirably)
12/13
13/14, 07/08 and 08/09 i can't separate, he was wildly inconsistent in all 3.

He was rock solid from 10/11 up until 13/14. His inconsistent seasons were 07/08 to 09/10.

11/12 he was letting them at a Bravo esque rate, at one point we conceded something stupid like 17 goals from 24 shots.

Haha

I don't usually take note of stats like that, but that was pretty damming.

Probably because the team was underperforming. I never had any complaints about Cech that season. He was inconsistent for the first few years after his injury but he really turned it around in the 2010-11 season and we never had any problems with him from that point.

Tbf the entire defense can be forgiven for having mediocre PL seasons that year. AVB's high line wasn't compatible with any of them.

Especially Cech. Even in his pomp, was NEVER a sweeper keeper.

Rewatch Chelsea 3-5 Arsenal in 2011/12, Cech was at fault for 4 goals.

1st goal wasn't
2nd goal was
3rd goal was past him before he knew it(can blame him if you want)
4th goal terry slipped
5th goal was unreal from RVP

And Arsenal missed a load of chances too.
AVB's high line was what was killing us if I remember.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd and 3rd were. One virtually rolled past him the other was near post. 5th was butterfingers embarassing,

And I think he went down way too easy for the 4th. Also Maloudas pass to Terry was just as bad as his slip.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
NPE it is okay to change your view when you are evidently wrong btw. Butterfingers? It was hit about 100mph. Either way you said he was at fault for four goals which wasn't the case.

I just watched cudicini fumble that cross against arsenal in the 03-04 season, keepers make mistakes.

As Devil says, that high line killed us that year.
