Am: Windass (Ejaria)
Lw: Murphy* (??? / Atakai)
St: Morelos (??? / Herrera / Hardie)
Excellent to see international quality (players with senior caps highlighted *) in there and in general squads got good depth while hopfully still providing opportunities for youth to step up. When you look at stats last year the attackers did well, but i think the above shows a real lack of competition. I reckon still to recruit has to be left and right wings and at least 1striker to give us competition for places if we play 2 up front.
Unless any of the above names move on though (eg wallace/fods/herrera) id imagine there will be little other movement. Agree? Who'd you like to see fill the remaining gaps?
Squad: just lacking firepower now?

Possibly all depends how much money there is and how much we get for Morelos. I would rather keep him and bring one in.
Regardless I am happy we have significantly invested in 2 physical CB'S it's been the weakness in the team for 3 years.
That's absolutely where I would have wanted the bulk of any budget spent

I'd rather keep him as well. Still of the belief that you need 3 strikers as a minimum, so I would say that we need another 2 (one of which might be a loan).
That being said, I'm pleased we have targeted the defence/goalkeeping position as areas for strengthening.

alnwick has not left at all i think he will be kept as the number 2 hopefully get some money for foderingham as hes just not good enough
i don't see the point in giving hardie another year then loaning him out
we have plenty of midfielders so hopefully a few strikers of good quality are next,solanke would be good but we need more than loan players

Agree re: wallace/herrera replacements. It would be great to bring them in but i cant see ones coming in unless their wages are freed up, nor would i want them to be. You do not want players basically being told they wont be considered for 1st team (which those signings would signal clear as day) hanging around unsettling the dressing room. If they are over 23 and hanging round at thevHummel, they'd better be pushing for a start or else their dead wood
I do however think that Gerrard being Gerrard will have identified CM as key. Im not yet fully convinced by what we have there yet, and can see stevie wanting to bring someone in that he sees himself in... watch that space?
